Commonwealth Bank Championship: Round 6- Matches posted

Happy with my squad, especially with the fast bowling lineup I've managed to put up. I hope we wreck havoc at the WACA. Our batsmen I reckon are definitely good enough to put up enough runs on the board. De Kock, the Marshes, and especially Du Plessis & Smith have all been batting brilliantly at international and domestic level this year, and they're well backed up by two Western Australian stalwarts in Hussey and North.

I admit we're a little short in the spin department, but we don't really need too many spinners at the WACA or any Australian venue in this competition apart from Sydney. O'Keefe is a handy containment bowler while the likes of North and Smith can more or less fill up for the one missing spinner.

Michael Hussey, undoubtedly one of the greatest players to emerge from Western Australia shall lead us. Steve Smith can be his deputy.

Looks like a competitive team, with the likes of aggressive, hard-working and sweating to score as much as possible batter like Watson, Hughes, Paine and Clarke in the top order. Such top order can demolish any bowling attack, no matter if there's Steyn and Morkel, even if they fail once in a blue moon, Williamson, Mathews and Duminy will be ready to hunt in the middle order. It'll be easy for them to play as Corey Anderson will be waiting to hit at least 2 sixes in the end to add as much as possible in the death overs. The local Scott Styris will be given some chances to prove why he was one of the best pure all rounders New Zealand ever had.

Bowling looks very strong as well spin-wise. Ajmal who is capable of taking no less than 3 wickets combining with the carrom ball expert Ashwin will make sure no-one gets easy or settled on any pitch, giving the fast, hungry wicket-taking and knowing their way around getting batsmen bowled young local bowlers their deserved chances. I'm sure no team will easily beat this huge all round team.

Ajmal? Isn't the guy banned from bowling or something till his action get's cleared?

Wait, he is! But for your sake, let's hope he's turned himself into a batting legend. :p

Watson and Clarke, I accept are very good and can overpower the best bowlers. But to say Hughes and Paine can also demolish Steyn and Morkel is just laughable.

Hughes was dropped 'cause he kept edging these guys to the slips every freaking match. They were so scared to play him that they gave Rob Quiney a Test debut instead. Sure, he's hit a List-A double ton since then but against an attack far less threatening than one with Steyn and Morkel in it and on a very flat pitch. It still remains to be seen if he's overcome his weaknesses against them, so it's better not to make judgements beforehand.[DOUBLEPOST=1414513592][/DOUBLEPOST]
He was available in the player list so...

Backdated player list from ELA IV, I reckon. If Aggz had asked me, I'd have done up a new chucker-free one.

And I recently heard from somewhere (maybe a news channel) that Saqlain Mushtaq says that Ajmal is almost ready for action which means that he will return very soon.

They say lots of things in the news. At some point they even said we'll have flying cars by 2015, but look where we are now.

I didn't mean that they'll individually destroy any bowling attack but as a team and pairs they'll of course. One does not individually destroy such world class bowlers like Steyn and Morkel. Even De Villiers has to get a good chemistry with the batter at the other end to stay calm and score else he gets out quick as well, he got this partner Plessis with whom he's a very good connection and these guys as a pair can no doubt destroy bowlers like Steyn and Morkel.

If that's the case than I'm afraid no world class spinner would have been left.

I don't know why would someone hoax about such a serious matter. Flying cars is no serious matter.

Well tbh I actually had that chucker thing in my mind but I really didn't want to imply it because it would've ultimately led to the downfall of the quality of the league with so many world-class spinners like Ajmal, Narine etc. missing the league.

And IIRC these guys are just banned from bowling in the international circuit, aren't they?
