Configuration- Controller PC

I am using my PS2 controller and I can?t seem to change the buttons to what I want, I.e. X for an attacking shot and O for a lofted shot, but I can?t seem to do it. I press triangle the select button whilst attempting to change the configuration and sweet FA happens and no other button seems to do anything other than go back (Square).

Any help would be greatly appreciated, cheers.
