Convincing Parents for a Car

I still don't have a car. Although I am 21 and a half years and have an Indian driver's license that expires in 2025.

Let me mention now that I don't know how to drive either. Or rather, I've "forgotten".

Try offering a trade with your parents. You do everything they say for a year, and you get a car...

Or get a job.

I'm going to get a license soon as well, although in my case my parents would forcibly buy a cheap car for me to drive as they wont let me drive theirs. All good for me , hmm try the doggy smile face, never fails

Are you still in Mumbai? If so then that makes sense, otherwise I imagine it'd be tough without a car in Houston.

For those of you who got a car by getting a job - how long does it take to accumulate enough money to get the car

Depends. If your looking at a second hand car, if you go to the right places you can usually get a very good second hand car that has previously been a lease car, meaning that its had loads of owners (technically) but done very few miles and so is almost brand new and as such its a great deal. My sister got one for about £2k. Which is your on a school holiday you can earn in a very short space of time if you work full time in your holiday for a decent amount of pay.

It isn't crazy, back when I got my first car, I wasn't much more than 16 and the car was only worth a few hundred. It ended up totalled, this is something you must remember. You don't do all that well with your first car.

:laugh :rtfl HAHAHA. My mate at M&S passed his driving test last week and got bought a new Renault Clio from his parents. Yesterday he smashed it in when he swurved around a rabbit and buckled the front of it in. Over a grand worth of damage. He isn't pleased
