Season 1:

So! After a jam-packed finale the Campeones of the inaugural Copa Liga Amrica have been crowned! Congrats and a big Thank You all the managers that took part to oversee their respective teams and all members who followed the league's progress to help instigate a successful first season.
Special Thanks are also directed towards The Author and User2010.

The Season's honours are swept up by the Buenos Aires Blasters, who did not look like Championship contenders on paper, having locals from the lowest ranked associate, however, they burst onto the scene when it mattered and clinched the title in the most nail-biting of Finales by the skin of their proverbial teeth. St George's are not to be forgotten though, as the Typhoons looked a threat for the entire season, failing to win only once before falling at the last hurdle. Also George Town, who secured the Bronze on Net Run Rate turning out some good performances. Los Angeles made it to the Semi Finals but never really looked to take the Knock-Outs by storm and finally, commiserations to Ottawa, who snapped up some of the finest talent and splashed out in the auctions but found themselves unluckily at the foot of the table.

Awards:

Golden Ball:
Up first is the award for the highest wicket-taker. Worthy of mention were Sunil Narine, who was a standout performer in Los Angeles's dreary Copa Liga expedition. A surprising contender was Lucas Paterlini who followed not far behind with some surprisingly excellent spells with the ball, however, the award goes to:

Malinga aided Buenos Aires's Copa run, taking wickets regularly.

Golden Bat:
Mahela Jayawardene presented an outside challenge for attaining the accolade of the top-scorer of the season. Lagging behind were also David Hemp and Aditya Mishra who were also key figures in their respective team's orders. However, where this award is concerned, this man was a head above the rest, scoring a total of four fiftys and a century to his name, the award is swept up by:

Ajinkya Rahane worked wonders for his team with the bat.

Player of the Tournament:
Many players made outstanding contributions to make for an enthralling tournament. Considered were of course Rahane himself who stole the show with his batting and the Captain Fantastic Mahela Jayawardene, who lead George Town with authority and was commanding at the crease. Also in the mix was Kyle Mills, who's match winning spells took St George's to the Final. His team mate and skipper David Hemp's experience and shone through in the some excellent innings for his team. But this man showed that it isn't always about skill and talent, but also about Grit, Determination and Resiliance, which he displayed no matter what the situation and was duly rewarded for it. The Player of the Season goes to:

Lucas Paterlini

The Argentinean was instrumental in Buenos Aires's Copa Liga triumph and completes their sweep up of all three awards.

Even if unexpected, it was fully deserved. You've taken all the best aspects of all the best leagues we've seen on PlanetCricket and morphed them seamlessly into the Copa Liga.

One little thing, though, I recommend linking the player of the season banned into the presentation post.

^ Was meant to, fixed it. Thanks. Instinctively integrated various aspects of other leagues, especially your Associate Premier League, which I suppose this is the daughter league of. Married everything I could think of together to chintzy up the league as much as I could, and I suppose it's paid off. :)

Yeah, well done for a wonderful first season, El Loco. Even though I have no link to the league as such, I used to follow some matches. It was fantastic to see Rahane score all those runs. Will follow season 2 as well. Nice work on the first page overall! :thumbs

Thanks Gaurav, even you were instrumental in the running of this league. Don't think I could've found anyone else to do the graphics like you have. :)
