A sad day for Cricket as Craig Kieswetter has had to quit due to an injury to his eye he sustained whilst playing against Northants last year.

Before I moved to Yorkshire 5 years ago, I was a Somerset supporter, and will always be a fan, so its a shame to see a guy who is only 27 retiring.

I will have fond memories of watching him play, and whilst he was often frustrating for England, he was often unplayable in the shorter formats of the game in County cricket.

I'd like to wish him well in whatever he chooses to do in the future.

Will always remember his innings in world t20 final. A great day.

Feel really sorry for him. A genuinely quality player who really enjoyed just playing the game. I get the feeling he could still play, but just not to the same level, hence him retiring. I hope he stays around Somerset in some form though, seems like a really top guy.

Painful that we've gone from 2 International class Wicket-keeper batsmen, to 0 in the last couple of years though.

Sad to lose such a talented player. The BBC article does make it sound more like psychological than physical reasons that has forced his retirement. Understandable given how we've seen Broad change since his injury that wasnt as bad.
