2. Installation
---------------
NOTE: Cricket 2004 will only install and run on machines installed with Windows 98SE, Windows ME, Windows 2000 or Windows XP.
1. Start your machine and wait for the Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP operating system to load.
2. Place the Cricket 2004 CD in the CD drive.
3. Windows will automatically detect the CD and begin the installation. Follow the on-screen instructions to install Cricket 2004.
4. The installation program adds a program group called 'EA Sports/Cricket 2004' to your Start/Programs menu, and a shortcut to your desktop (optional). Click on this shortcut or alternatively click on the start button on your Windows task bar. Under Programs/EA Sports/Cricket 2004 select Cricket 2004 to play.
Note: If the Auto insert notification feature has been disabled or the CD is not recognised, run Setup.exe from the root directory of the CD to begin the installation program.

3. DirectX

DirectX 8.1 is required to run Cricket 2004.

4. Uninstall
------------
To uninstall Cricket 2004 go to Programs/EA Sports/Cricket 2004 in the Start menu. Click on Uninstall Cricket 2004 to proceed. Alternatively, click on the Start menu, select Settings and then Control Panel. Now find Add/Remove Programs and click to run. Scroll down the list until you see Cricket 2004, select it and click on Add/Remove to uninstall.

5. Troubleshooting Video / 3D cards
-----------------------------------
Video cards that use the 3DFX chip (Voodoo brand etc.) no longer have driver support for DirectX libraries 8 and above. As Cricket 2004 requires DirectX 8.1 or higher these video cards are no longer supported.
Task switching is not a fully supported feature whilst playing Cricket 2004 and you may encounter problems, if problems persist please exit and restart Cricket 2004.

6. Peripherals

Microsoft Windows-compatible mouse, keyboard and any game controller that is 100% compatible with DirectX 8 (Direct Input). An 8 Button, Analogue Joypad is recommended for full functionality.

Default Keyboard controls
S Key - Front foot shot/Start a delivery
W Key - Back foot shot/Start a delivery
D Key - Advance shot, Run/Start Delivery
A Key - Play no shot, duck/Start a delivery
Left Shift Key - Six Hit button
Space Key - Replay slow motion/Toggle menu
Left Control - Batsmen look left
Right Control - Batsmen look right
The user can remap the controls to their preference.
