I've just got Cricket 2005 and have just been trying to play it, but I've got a big problem with the speed of it - it's like they're all on amphetamines or something!! It's really fast. I had this bproblem with 2004 but got the slowdown program which sorted it, but it doesn't seem to be making any difference to 2005. Any ideas????

come on guys surely someone must have a few ideas on how to rectify this problem??? I'm here with the game, unable to play it due to the manic game speed...... gutted :crying

I had a similar problem with C2004 after upgrading my PC to an Athlon 3500 & Geforce 6600GT; what's your PC specs ? Is there anything in the readme under the dreaded "Known Issues" section ? Did you have the same problem with the C2005 demo ?

I didn't fancy the Xspeed (?) option to slow things down, but found that if you enable Vsync (right-click on the desktop, select Properties, then the Settings tab, then the Advanced button - should be in there somewhere, depending on your graphics card), then ensure you're running a sensible refresh rate e.g 75 or 85 Hz (same place, probably under the Monitor tab, or if you've got a Geforce card, there may be a seperate Refresh Rates option.), it did slow the game down somewhat.

Whilst it still sped up a bit in places, it was a little more playable.

Hope this helps !

cheers mate. i'm running it on a laptop, which i've had no trouble from any other game apart from cricket 2004 (which i sorted) and now 2005. I'm running athlon 64 and GeForce 440. i'll try the v-sync and see if that helps.... :help

Had the same problem on my laptop yesterday. Unpluged the power and ran on battery and it worked perfectly. If you look my thread is on page 2 about this. In there it tells you how to set your lappy to run on less power.
Hope this helps!

cheers mate - thats slowed it down a bit. still pretty fast but at least its sort of playable now. suppose it just takes time to get used to after 2004.

Well,Xspeed doesnt work with the demo..I tried increasing speed to +4 in xspeed and yet find no noticable difference in game speed !!

at school we all had this same problem our laptops but the way to fix it without error is to make sure that you have the power cable in right from when you turn on your computer or else it will run extremely fast. That works for me so I hope it works

m@c why have you such a poor graphics card with such a good processor?

coz thats what it came with - and, as you know, its not very easy, cheap, if at all possible to upgrade on a laptop. Unless you want to buy me a new desktop so I can get a better GFX card??!!!

And Ricky - Yeah i tried that, but when I'm playing games, the power lead is always in so thats not the problem. Oh well, I got it sorted now by alter power management settings and in game system settings.

cheers for the help guys
