Cricket 22 Academy Creations

updated West Indies 1920s, 30s, 40s and 50s with changes to individual player styles. fielding positions and likeness.
Im a Windies fan too, was just wondering if you would be creating any new players like Pollard or Holder. There play faces are nothing like and id love to download new ones.

To any creators out there, how do you go about sculpting faces, I always seem to struggle to get a good recreation before adding the face template.

Image overlay is bugged, can never get it over the face to sculpt more accurately.

Find two or three good photos; make the face. Never really used image overlay. Do them 'by eye', so to speak. Having two monitors makes this easier.

It's an obvious suggestion but spend time learning how the player creator works if you want to get better. Learn what you can do, learn what you can't do. Just keep trying making faces, create some custom players cause you can always copy the appearance if you get something you want to use. Ignore the playface until you can make players look close to a real player without it. The face detail stuff helps a little, although a lot of things are lacking in the creator (e.g. eyebrows, but that's nothing new really).

I've found that I've gone back to sculpting a face first on this game, whereas I'd got into a habit of slapping a playface on and then trying to mould the face on Cricket 19 because I knew how the creation tools worked so well. I'd still say making good players is still more about face model than playface, even with improvements to how the playfaces appear in this game.

I'm along a similar line, guess I was hoping for that magical elixir comment to help get great results quickly lol. I've found that cheekbones doing next to nothing though in C22. Wouldn't mind the eyes subsection to have a bit more added to it, quite lacklustre compared to C19.

One thing I'm doing now is when making a face, I'm finding some side on shots and applying the sides to the edges of the template (cheeks, jawline) which helps with a bit more consistency in terms of complexion and saves time not worrying about clone stamp or heal brush too much. Kind of a similar thing I do with PES faces.

Yeah, there's some limitations. Hoping there will be further additions and improvements to come. Eyes and resizing the lower half of the face independently are two setbacks I keep running into.

What could be interesting is if/when the C19 stuff is imported to C22 and see how it turns out. If it looks good I might just keep doing work in C19 academy and doing some touch ups with C22's stuff, face detail section mainly.

I might be wrong but I really don't think this mythical importing of Cricket 19 stuff I've seen people talk about is a thing. The stuff that has been imported (there are some playfaces) look terrible anyway.

Yeah, I'm hopeful but I think its a bit of a unicorn at the moment.

Just wondering if anyone has template to do playface or video to show me how to make a playface
Template link is here:

As for a tutorial, everyone seems to have a different way of doing it atm. Give it some time and someone might do something in the future.

If I recall correctly it stemmed from a tweet by Ross that I reckon was misinterpreted. Given the changes I don't know what could be transferred. I'd expect what was meant is that the logos from Cricket 19 were taken across (as was the case with Ashes to C19). I generally reupload stuff anyway, so I haven't checked.

Do you think there is any chance Big Ant add more longer hairstyles into the game?

For me I create using the editing tools however the overlay though good rarely works (crashes to desktop for me) when it does work is great.

However Ive gone back to the way I've always done it.

Process
I look at a face. (either photo or paused video shot)
Decide the face shape. (diamond, round, long, etc.)
Then I look at eye height, nose height, mouth height, jaw height (not jaw shape)
Then I look at eye width, nose width and mouth width, jaw width (and jaw shape)
Add in facial hair (plus colours)

Once I have the basic face I then tinker around, getting to know the editor takes time.

I could get better results if I go back and play around more, sometimes even seeing the person on TV or You Tube gives a completely different perspective than a picture.

Some faces just fit. Some will require more time and patience, but the more skilled you are at using the editor the better the results. The overlay option is really good (When it works!)

I did Clive Lloyd on Cricket 19 and also here on Cricket and it was simpler than say Viv Richards, Desmond Haynes or Malcolm Marshall three of the hardest faces to do!

I would like to move to Playface but have not got any idea how!I get there is a template to download, then what? :)

Here is an example of Brian Lara, it took me about 5 minutes to set up his basic face then another 15 minutes tinkering around with the creation until I got something of a decent 1st likeness of the left handed genius. With more time I could improve it but it is at this stage trial and error. His jaw could still do with a bit of work but I think you would agree there is a likeness. (at least I hope so!). Also I would add nose root is very important because I've found that really does line up the eyes, his eyebrows could do with being raised a touch but is takes a bit of trial and error and is only good as the editor itself, especially with styling options.

At the end of the day you could spend hours on it and like I do go back to something you did not like, I know that I made a decent fist of Ian Botham but I know his nose root is too wide, I also know Richie Richardson has an interesting nose!
