Iftikhar Ali Khan known as the Nawab of Pataudi played for England and India.
He played at Oxford University for 4 years and was very producive and then got signed for Worcstershire in 1932. Although he didn't make a great deal of runs in his first season at Worcstershire. He played an great innings against Essex where he murdered Tich Freeman and got on to Douglas Jardine's Bodyline tour. Pataudi made a century on debut in the first test and then after a failure in the next test and also objecting to Jardine's bodyline tactics, Pataudi was then dropped from the next 3 tests and returned to India. After a few successful seasons for Worctershire, Pataudi returned to the England side under Cyril Walters captiancy but only made scores of 12 and 10 as Australia won by 238 runs. Pataudi barely played in the next four seasons. After he was further rejected by England he was offered a place for the Indian tour against England and also to be made captian but refused and Pataudi would not be selected by India for another 10 years, in which he played little cricket back home and by the tour of England in 1946 ,in which he captianed a weak Indian side, he was rusty and was past his best to stand a chance of making any sort of score.

He was quite an unlucky cricketer really since he wasn't allowed to play in the bodyline tour after objecting to Jardine's bodyline tactics and it isn't fair to be given just one game in 1938 after a productive season in county cricket. Of course their was nothing he could do to get a weak Indian side to beat a strong England side, especially as himself as a player was well past his best at the age of 36.

Your turn svijay.
