Cricket Leagues Feedback, Discussions & Announcements

Rahul, put Aussie Team's Western Premier League in instead of mine. The teams are completely re-drafting in my league as you know. The new Season of AmCL probably won't finish until mid to late March.

Oh Sorry, I completely forgot Western Premier League.

Sorry Aussie your league teams are in CL50.

Hoping Callum , Cheiwe and Hedger allow

Champions League Interview To Mods Updated (Callum,Hedger,Chewie) :p

Which Teams Will Feature ?

Newzealand Premier League Run By Callum
Western Premier League Run By Andrew
Australian Premier League Run By Biggy
Zimbabwe Premier League Run By Good (Season 1)
Srilanka Premier League Run By Good (Last Season)
Bangladesh Premier League Run By Tarun
and If Permission granted then, IPL Season 3 Run By Me (:p)

So In all 12 to 14 teams.

2 Teams from each league

What Will Be Tournament Format?

12 Teams Will Be Divided into 2 groups. Each team from each group play in Double Round Robin Format against their other team in the same group.

The Top 3 teams from both group move to Double Knockout Elimination Stage.

And Concluding that Double K.O Elimination Stage, We Have The Finals Played. :)

How Player Clashes Will Be Resolved

My way of planning is allowing only 3 Overseas player this time. Each league has minimum 10 Domestic players, so I would like to see more of their domestic talent then their talent with Overseas.

So I would prefer their Playing XI in each match be 8 Domestic and 3 Overseas.

Now if NZPL VS APL is the match and Vettori is playing for both the teams then obvious choice and compulsion would be that he will play for NZPL.

In the end, I can include more teams from different leagues like, LMS,GPL but it's not based on a particular country has all sorts of players mixed and hence it would not be nice idea as player clashes would exceed.

In case a non domestic player is clashed between two teams, the home team will play that player once and in next round robin match the other team gets to play him.

Also during K.O stages, or Finals or Semi Finals in case there is a player clash then it will be decided by website www.random.org

Here, a number will be generated from 1-100. If the number is <=50 then A team gets that player and if the number is >50 & <=100 then B team gets that player

Also, One suggestion, Can I include my league India Premier League Season 3 Winners and Runners Up?

If yes then 14 teams will play if not then 12.

Thank You

What happens if Sehwag is playing in both the teams?

If suppose NZPL and APL both team have Sehwag playing for themselves then, it will be decided on home conditions factor.

Like, if NZPL team has home match then he will play for NZPL and as it is Double Round Robin, obviously second time he will play for APL team.

Also there can be a mutual consent when there are 2 or more players in a clash.

Like I will play abc and you play xyz :)

I don't know too much about the leagues involved cos I'm only a member of a couple of them. Those ones seem fine, though you might want to consider Riz's AfPL.

Double Round Robin format would take quite a while to get through the group stages. 14 teams means 7 per group, and in a double round robin format that's 12 matches for each team, which is quite a lot.

Not too sure what you mean by double knockout format

3 Overseas is not that many, especially when you consider that some of those leagues allow 5 overseas in their teams. I think 4 would work though.

Clashes procedure seems fine.

Weren't IPL season 3 winners already in CL4? I had Delhi and Chennai in there. But using a random number generator sounds like a decent idea to sort out clashes.

The leagues seem fine, but like Jono said AfPL should probably be there. Don't include IPL if it's teams were already involved in the last CL, unless you're going to do what I suggest below.

The player clashes during the round robin seem fine, but TBH I'm not a fan of using a random number generator during the playoffs. There's nothing wrong with saying that player just won't play, as that makes it 100% fair to both teams.

In terms of the format, with 12/14 teams a double round robin will take ages, and the idea is to make it short and sweat so it doesn't really interfere with the actual seasons. I'd look to only include the winners. Therefore you could have eight teams if you include IPL and AfPL, so two pools of four, and a double round robin will only be six matches, instead of 10/12.

In terms of the domestic players, I'd say three is way too little, considering most leagues I'm in use five, with APL being four. So if you want to see the domestic talent, I'd probably go with four.

I said 3 as I thought let the domestic talent be used up completely and not let the overseas take over it in cl but I don't mind with 4 overseas.

Also I saw Riz's afpl is at half stage but yes we can include season 2 winners.

Also I would not like IPL to be there but since now we are just including winners and to make it an even figure let them play.

Also not playing a player in case of clash won't be fair as that player might just be important to that teams combination so let's just try out random number thing. Also remove the double knockout stage and keep direct semi finals now that we are playing just 8 teams. I will be online through laptop now directly at 8 hours later from now and that time I will do a bit of research and then post more about cl5

The AfPL is nearly finished it's season.. about as close as the APL is to finishing

NZPL, IPL, SPL and ZPL have all finished their most recent seasons.

BCL, APL and AfPL are all about to finish their seasons.

The only tough decision is WPL which is mid-season, if you want to get on with things quickly I'd use the season one teams, or you could ask Aussie Team how long he'll be in terms of finishing season two.
