Hi

Is anyone here familiar with CricketStatz software. I purchased it recently and use it to track my BLC matches. I save my match results using the PRINT command and then use a small program I wrote to change the scorecards to the format cricketstatz expects and then import it into there. I can then do all kinds of analysis on my games and simulate a complete season and multiple seasons. It has made the game much more enjoyable for me so I thought I would share it with all of you. If you are interested in purchasing the software go to www.cricketstatz.com.

anand,
I've looked high and low on the internet for a cricket statistics software which is available for free download, but no luck. How long is the trial period on cricketstatz, and how much to purchase the shareware version?
Another one I found was the Cricket Scorebook for Windows, but again , it's shareware.

hi jonah

i paid about 95 australian dollars for it. I have found it decent (lacking in charts however) but for the most part covering all different statistical areas. It is very cool to do statistical comparisons after importing match results from blc into the software. I am not aware of any shareware versions that are very detailed.

anand, I checked out the demo, lokks alright. Is it worth the $95? Also, is it easy to transfer your stats from blc to the cricketstatz, without re-typing it all?

Thanks,
bomber.

bomber i dont know if you put it that way if its worth it. its a good software to track stats if you are really into it. but if not then i wouldnt waste that much money. espcially if u are in india it translates to a lot of money.

as far as matches cricketstatz has a facility to import scorecards into the software so you can literally pull BLC batting and bowling scores into the software and not enter anything urself manually.

anand, you said that you can import scores straight to the software from blc without typing, is that with the PRO edtion?
Ive tried with the demo, no luck. I can do it, but all stats must be typed.

Thanks.

ya bobmber, u need the full version to import the scorecards. i tried it and failed in the demo.

thanx

I really like the interface of the program... But I think it costs a fortune compared to its general public use. I think there are many very good programmers who can make such softwares just for practice and then give those as a GNU.

hi rishi

i did plan to make a statistical software for blc. and contacted donovan for further help. he supported me well. i am working on such a project. but for the recent few days i was not able to do more on it, 'coz of the construcion of a new tournie site. althouhgh, i will work more on it, and hope that it will be done soon

thanx

Yes the demo version does not have a import feature. Only the paid version does. And I do feel it is a bit steep in price for a statistics software but the person who wrote it apparently has sold thousands of copies since it is primarily targeted towards cricket clubs.

I have successfully imported BLC scorecards in but I had to write a small program myself that merged the Batting screen, balls/4s/6s screen and the bowling screen into one single file. I can then use this file and import portions of it into the statistcs scorecard easily. It takes a little bit of time to input the data but its worth the time spent. Also one thing I believe is you only get the importing feature in the PRO edition not the standard edition.

Undertaker,
that's great news that you're making a BLC stats program - will it be available for all to use?

Undertaker, After you go to that website which sangamm put up, type in cricket statz at the search engine. It comes up with all these dodgy pop up's, if u know what I mean?
U should be able to download it there. I did download it, but having problems extracting it into my program.

See how u go, if u get it working please let me know, thanks.
