Last I looked he was part of the player list put up by @The Author in the index, unlike Di Venuto. It's far more plausible for a 37-year old just one year fresh from retirement to play in a tournament like this, than a 43-year old who hasn't played any cricket in more than 4 years.

Even I don't know how Author put him in the list but if age is concerned then what about Misbah 42 years old, still scoring double centuries. Courtney Walsh, Brian Lara, Allan Donald all played in MCL after so many years of retirement. And Michael Di Venuto is the head coach of surrey. So yes he is still in the touch with cricket.
