DBC17 Ultimate Team is an online multiplayer competition for Don Bradman Cricket 17. The competition will be a 20/20 league with a knockout finals series at the end of each season in order to decide which team is truly the ultimate.
Player Types & Starter Packs
All players are split into one of three categories;Bronze (<65 overall), Silver (65-74 overall), and Gold (75-84 overall), and Premium (85+ overall)
Each team will initially be made up of a randomly generated 'starter pack' of players. This will consist of 15 players - 1 premium, 2 gold, 4 silver, 8 bronze. These will include at least 5 batsmen, 5 bowlers, and one wicketkeeper. You may also select a nationality for your starter pack which will ensure you receive at least 5 players of this nationality.
After this you can improve the strength of your lineup by purchasing player packs, trading with other teams, and participating in auctions.
Player Packs
Packs can be opened at any point throughout the season. Each pack contains one player of the quality indicated in the pack name, and the packed player will immediately join your squad.
Bronze Player Pack (150 coins)
Silver Player Pack (1000 coins)
Gold Player Pack (5000 coins)
Premium Player Pack (7500 coins)
Any Player Pack (500 coins)
Select position - 500 coins (may select if bowlers bowl pace or spin for extra 250 coins)
Coins
Each team will start with 10,000 coins. Coins can be used to purchase player packs, to trade with other teams, and to bid in player auctions. You will also receive coins as prizes at the end of the season and performance in games.
During a game you will earn coins based on the following;
Win - 250 coins
1 runs scored - 1 coin
1 wicket taken - 10 coins
Squads
There is a squad limit of 18 players per team that cannot be exceeded at any point during the season. It is possible to go over the 18 player limit during the off-season, but you may need to release or trade players in order to get back under the limit by the start of the new season.
Trades (for either players or coins) may be conducted at any point throughout the season. Once both parties have agreed to a trade, they must BOTH either PM me the details or post in this thread so that I can confirm it and the trade can take place.
Players may also be released, with the amount of coins you receive for each player type equal to the following values;
Bronze - overall x 2.5
Silver - overall x 10
Gold - overall x 50
Premium - overall x 65
Following every round of matches there will also be a random chance that one or more players will sustain an injury. The severity of the injury will also be randomized with players out for lengths ranging from one match to the full season.
Following every match the Man of the Match will receive an 'in-form' who will then have their stats upgraded in order to reflect their strong performance in game. This will correlate to the overall upgrades shown below.
- 1 point upgrade
- 2 point upgrade
- 3 point upgrade
- 4 point upgrade
There will also be a set of Team of the Season upgrades given out at the end of every season. To implement these in game, you will need to edit your player and upgrade their ratings as directed.
League Structure
Depending on the number of teams that sign up to the league, each team will play against each other once or twice. The top few teams will then qualify for the knockout finals series. Teams receive 2 points for a win, or 1 point for a tie. If two or more teams are tied on points at the end of the season, net run rate will act as a tiebreaker. There will also be coin and player prizes for teams at the end of the season based on where they finish. These are yet to be decided and will be announced before the start of the season.
Off-Season
Following the grand final every season there will be a series of off-season events that take place.
PLAYER HAPPINESS
Players have a random chance to be deemed 'unhappy' at the club, and will not be able to play at the club next season. This will mean that they will need to be either released or traded before the end of the off-season. The chance that a player will grow to be 'unhappy' is equal to (0.5) x (100% - the percentage of innings they have been used in throughout the season). Essentially, this mechanic works to keep team lists fresh whilst also simulating players moving to other clubs in order to chase better opportunities and greater playing time.
SWIPING
Similar to a draft system, each team will have an opportunity to 'swipe' players from other clubs at the end of every season. Starting with the team that finished last, you will be able to take two players from any other team. This process then continues with the team that finished second last 'swiping' players, until every team has had an opportunity to do so. However, there are some restrictions to this. Firstly, a maximum of three players may be swiped from any one team. Each team will also be able to 'reserve' 4 players, meaning that they cannot be 'swiped'. This will ensure that the best players on your team are protected.
AUCTIONS
Following swiping, there will also be a chance to participate in auctions for certain players. You will then have 48 hours to outbid other teams (using coins) in order to win players of your choice.
