There is no need to slaughter an innocent animal for no purpose (other than food). And im sure 'god' doesnt need another dead thing walking through the pearly gates, im sure 'he's' busy enough

Almost all of the people I know have never done anything like that. However, I met a few people from Bangladesh while playing cricket the other day and they certainly do.

Personally, I don't give a crap. Millions of animals die in slaughterhouses. By-catch in seafood is horrible too (I think it's 70% of what they catch, they don't need). Then there are those dolphin slaughterings in Japan, and Chinese people eating dogs, cats, and one guy that ate a human fetus.

I really don't care what other people do with their time. I personally don't approve, so I'm a vegetarian, but I don't expect everyone to live with my philosophy of live and let live.

Sacrificing to God is a highly savage and archaic behavior, IMHO.

I have no idea what laws are in place in India.

However, if what he did was against the law, I don't see how he can't be punished. It doesn't matter what happens in other countries or the fact that he's a celebrity, if it's illegal there, he's gotta pay. But, I don't know the laws in India.

It is simply not against the law in India to sacrifice any animal.If it were so,all the temples would have shut down by now.Its just cause Dhoni is a celebrity and thats why this matter is taking centre-stage.

yes....and by taking this as an example......the govt of india should have a law
such that ANYONE sacrificing ANY animal should pay X Rs fine
and should get X years in jail.......
