Fair enough, but Dravid was by no means a poor captain.

He didnt look a better captain than either Ganguly or Dhoni (so far, Dhoni has looked better than Dravid's peak time).

Lets give some time to Dhoni,in last 1 yr he hasent scored much in test cricket,till then let him settle down,Kuble might retire in 1 yr or so.

I guess Kumble might retire after this series, or maximum after the England series. I dont see him going on after that.

The problem is Dhoni hasnt scored well in test cricket. He is a agressive batsman but he cant play that role because if we are in trouble then he has to defend and leave a lot balls. Which makes it difficult for him to score.

Yes I totally agree with you. Indian pitches are flat so easier for him to score no swing or pace. He sturggled in Aus and Eng because of the condition. He is going to be a great captain but he really need to work on his test cricket if he wanna be one of the best wicket kepper batsman.

Also in Delhi (upcoming test) test,possibly VVS Laxman will be axed as they have to fit in Kumble as captain,and Mishra who is in form,so India will play with 3 spinners+2 fast bowlers.

Im not fickle. Dhonis no wonder boy but hes more proactive as was seen with Clarkes first innings dismissal. Lets give devil the due but Im not drooling over Dhoni.

A captain is as good as team. Ponting looked great when he had champions in team, now his true test will come.

Dhoni is more proactive than many Indian captains, other of whom notably was Ganguly. If he had captained in SL, maybe we might not have looked as bad as we did. His captaincy definitely has an effect. As regards with Ponting, who said he is a bad captain? Those who say it would be fools.

If Kumble really perfroms bad in next 2 test matches,captaincy might be shifted,also lets stop this issue for this series,becase that will put more pressure on captain and on his decisions,so for India lets hope Kumble plays well,because we are also sacking VVS (though he is not playing well,but we are leaving him for Kumble,because we cant leave Mishra who has done well).Also Delhi is a place where Kumble has taken many wickets i guess its 66 (i read in some new article or on TV not sure but its more than 50),also pitch curator who is around 70 ,he is preparing for Kumble,as he is doing it for last time.Lets hope India seals series here.

If he can have that big an influence on things as a captain and win us games, then I'm more than happy to settle for an average in the 30s in Tests, it's not as if we have a shortage of quality batsmen.

That I disagree with. I can see him averaging in the mid 40's when his Test Career ends...As he will only get better with time, His average is already 36 now.
