Dhoni to be axed as ODI/T20 captain : Sehwag in as frontrunner

Sounds silly to me, if he deemed good enough to be retained as Test captain then they still see him as a good captain. Now unless hes going to be sacked as a player from the ODI and T20I side then there is no reason why he shouldn't be captain of those sides.

Exactly. Dropping someone based on T20 is silly. It's such a random game. How else can Netherlands beat England less than a year ago, yet England make the final this time? How else can Zimbabwe beat Australia in the warmup and 3 years ago, yet Australia rampage through the tournament. This World Cup has seen 5 over games deciding crucial fixtures. It's the most fickle format where one bad over can cost you a game. Yet India is happy to sack him as ODI captain based on this? I could understand losing the T20 job perhaps, but 2 jobs is as quoted, silly.

Haven't aussies sacked ponting as t20 captain?

Not correct. Ponting doesn't want to play T20 cricket, so they had to find someone else. He wasn't sacked. If he wanted to play, he would definitely be captain.

This Wont happen if it does then it will be time for Indian Cricket To Come Down!!

With the World Cup close by, they better make decisions fast and see how they work out or they' won't prepared

Kohli is the best option available if Dhoni's sacked out as captain.

Kohli single handedly paved way for Indian win in ICC u-19 World Cup in 2008.
He even has a record of clean sweep in this year's Deodhar Trophy for North Zone!

:laugh It's like a bloody circus with the BCCI. You never know what these clowns are going to do next. At least it keeps cricket interesting :p

I'm searching for the anti-BCCI group. Can anyone help me?

What a pathetic decision it will be if BCCI sack him. For me he was one of the best captain of India, he was unique in his style which is very good when it comes to Indo-Pak cricket.
if BCCI sack him then I can smell some thing disastrous for Indian cricket with WC2011 is also on its way.

Lol. The BCCI are stupid. I'm guessing this decision is because they care too much about the shittest form of cricket and that if you fail at T20, you fail at OD. Strip him of his T20 captaincy if you must and give it to Gambhir or someone but India will just go down in ODI cricket if he gets stripped of his captaincy and like I said, T20 means nothing and only the nations care about it. The only thing I have bothered to watch in this tournament is Eoin Morgan bat.

Dhoni should be retained as captain.. Manoj morais

Dhoni shud b retained as captain in all foramts of cricket. he is a cool captaion and a proven performer. now, what we need to change is the selection committee. they did blunders of not taking in form batsman robin uthappa, virat kohli, and, bowlers like pragyan and amit mishra. On the Fast bowling track, Sreesanth is much better option, than Ashish nehra. Sreesanth might go for runs in slower tracks, but on a perfect fast bowling track he is a good choice.. for eg. in 2007, in south africa, against australia, his figures, wer 4 over 8 for 3. ..now wat Bcci need to do is, make a seprate selection panel which is headed by coach, captain and some x-indian players, those, who are not in the bcci, rit now. they should select the team, players, and let them not be partial.

The thing is, we dont play T20 cricket for quite a long time now (maybe 1-2 games till the 2011 WC). But the BCCI wants to punish someone from the Indian team immediately (with ODI's coming up now, would be easy to punish Dhoni by sacking him as ODI captain) and also deflect blame from them because the actual problem was with the board and selectors.

Hope the news is false. Its just that a certain bunch of players need to be sacked immediately. Unfortunately, Zaheer Khan is also one of them (Yuvraj Singh for sure, Yusuf and Jadeja if not sacked, its a waste of time watching Indian cricket).

I wouldn't say it was worth nothing, but at the same time what is changing the captain going to achieve. It's clearly not a problem with him personally, otherwise he'd be removed for all forms.

This is just speculation. Times of India isn't the most reliable source.
