Sounds silly to me, if he deemed good enough to be retained as Test captain then they still see him as a good captain. Now unless hes going to be sacked as a player from the ODI and T20I side then there is no reason why he shouldn't be captain of those sides.
Exactly. Dropping someone based on T20 is silly. It's such a random game. How else can Netherlands beat England less than a year ago, yet England make the final this time? How else can Zimbabwe beat Australia in the warmup and 3 years ago, yet Australia rampage through the tournament. This World Cup has seen 5 over games deciding crucial fixtures. It's the most fickle format where one bad over can cost you a game. Yet India is happy to sack him as ODI captain based on this? I could understand losing the T20 job perhaps, but 2 jobs is as quoted, silly.
Haven't aussies sacked ponting as t20 captain?
Not correct. Ponting doesn't want to play T20 cricket, so they had to find someone else. He wasn't sacked. If he wanted to play, he would definitely be captain.
