I hate run outs in this game....: Unlike in real life cricket...the batsmen in this game, after striking the ball, don't even see the journey of the ball or the fielder ....they just run.....:
Just now had one ....I have set Somerset a target of 363 in a Challenge Trophy group match...Looks like pressure is getting on them as youth opener V.Castle was run out without facing a ball.....
What's the exact definition of diamond duck?
I always thought it was getting out on the first ball of an innings, but apparently its getting out without facing a ball. Any clarification?
Edit: After research it seems Platinum Duck is getting out first ball of an innings and Royal is getting out first ball of a match.
I don't think there is such thing as a Crystal Duck.:doh
Since we are talking about ducks ....didnt want to create a new thread for this....
first of all, This isnt my match. After finishing my Surrey innings against Sussex, I was just going through the other Pro-League matches and found this one. Look at Yorkshire's scorecard.
If it is displeasing to the eyes ...Look at the 49 .....Look at the 31....
I've had a diamond duck before in a county game (real life). We bowled the oppo out for under 50, I got in by a foot and their ump gave me run out. Coincidence?
