i think they rushed the release due to the fierce competition with codies.

I have my sources that say they rushed it due to the Ashes.

no doubt the game is good.it has its bugs but its way better than
cricket 2004.if EA release a patch to fix these bugs, then it will
be the best game.

if all or most of the bugs are patched, then it will easily beat BLIC by miles.

Cricket 2k5 has brilliant graphics and animations to make it realistic. The lighting effects are some of the best I've ever seen too, but gameplay is what seperates the good games from the great games.

The gameplay has been tweaked since Cricket 2k4, but I still think more could have been done. The CPU pacing in ODIs is ridiculous, after it has taken me just 8 overs to bowl Australia all out for 0. They need to make it harder.

Sound is where this game is let down. The fielder picking the ball up sounds like the stumps being hit, and the crowd applauses every little piece of average cricket. The commentary, no matter what anyone else says, is pretty good. Did you expect a complete change from last year? I didn't, and the addition of new lines has made it nice to hear. Jim Maxwell finally has more of an input, instead of Richie Benaud hogging the mictophone.

Overall this is a good solid landmark for future games, but if you had to choose between this and BLIC, the West Indies batsman wins hands down.

I wouldn't go that far. Sorry.

hopefully i just suck and need more time but hooking and cutting is impossible for me to do

and the CPU when it bats in a test match man its boring!!! they only get singles off the leg side if I bowl them there for them

other then that I have no problems with the game maybe i need more practice at batting

From what I have heard, batting is way too easy in BLIC. So I wouldnt say it has the best gameplay.
Its true that the pacing files for the CPU in this C2005 really needs to be worked upon.

However BLIC does have an edge over C2005 as the former has more number of stadiums. I think it is very disappointing to have just one stadium in West Indies, India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan. And just two in South Africa.

C2005's graphics are lightyears ahead of BLIC, and also gives the extra option of county cricket also.

Now coming to the gameplay. The AI in batting and fielding is poor, but it is better than C2004, as the CPU doesnt throw away its wickets as easily. The CPU does make an attempt to post scores of 300+ which was a rare occurence with the original hard settings of C2004(before all the AI patches were released). Also player animations and movements in C2005 is pretty awesome which make most of the shots look neat. And all EA need to know to make this good game, awesome is release a patch and fix atleast the major bugs. But unfortunately, history tells, there isnt a good chance of this happening. But if you go by history, you wouldnt have expected a demo to be released, but it did. So just keep your fingers crossed.

In BLIC I hear, batting is easy. Now this is definately not good news, but maybe in Test/World Class modes it will be. One cannot comment on the gameplay just as yet.

In the end, if I had to choose between the games, right now I would go for C2005 without any second thought as I am enjoying playing it. But this might change, when BLIC is released at the end of this month.

personally i feel it was rushed but is still a heck of a game, i think it was probly rushed because of BLIC coming out.

It was probably rushed, but it still is a very good game. Thoroughly enjoyable if you're dedicated for this.

Its finally a decent cricket sim. Challenging gameplay but still there are bugs.
If they can release a nice patch that addresses this like 2-3 months from now, that'll make this a truly memorable game.

sorry indiancricketer for this comment below but in your sig picture, sachin tendulkar looks like he's been zapped with a lightning bolt and is yelling in pain.
Also, the middle guy looks like he's had a nice swim in the pool a la Bo Derek.

LOL.
