Don Bradman Cricket 14 Official Trailer

Hey Fonzarelli, before you cut & paste the entire internet onto the forum, I have always said our games do not review well.

AFL Live 1, the biggest selling AFL game of all time, and RLL2 are very well regarded by fans and that's what I care about. You, not so much :p

There are only a couple of professional reviews for the game in fact. Ign and playstation australia gave 6/10.

No review copies were made available.

Strange to say the least.

For sport based titles, especially for niche sports such as Rugby/cricket, I would take official reviews with a bagful of salt. Most of the reviewers don't even know the sport well enough to review the title, and if any game has a steep learning curve the rating would be slightly on the lower side.

I would rather take gamer review/feedback as a more accurate representation of the game. E.g., in case of cricket I would trust PC member reviews more than IGN or Gamespot and I'm sure there must be rugby forums around (bigfooty?) which would provide more dependable feedback about RLL2.

Our publisher never gives out review copies.

At first I disagreed with this approach but I have learned that his approach is right.

The majority of reviewers don't actually like sport, I know that's a sweeping generalisation, but I stand by it. In effect they end up reviewing something they don't like or understand the real world counterpart of, or even worse are doing it because they've been forced to as part of their job. The outcome is not good in these circumstances.

Ign's Luke Reilly seems fair to me. Rugby League Live 2 Review - IGN

God, we understand, you can use google! We get it!

Do you want me to post all the reviews? Might save you some time.

PS: This is the Cricket thread - there is a thread for RLL.

Slightly iffy track record some might say.

Slightly iffy track record some might say.

It's almost as if reviews compare games without context to bigger, higher budget games.

You can also ascertain from the reviews of all bigant games that they get incrementally bigger. From what we have seen and from what Ross has said, this won't change for the new cricket game.

By all means, don't buy it. But your continued persistence on this thread seems to say to me that you are actually interested in the game.

He's just upset that people don't agree with his expert opinions

Don't you think the review is consistent with what has already been said? Here's quoting from the Verdict section of the review you quoted...

As far as improvements go this is a sizeable one, but the original was admittedly a total turkey. Rugby League Live was a game that just wasn?t worth persisting with; it played poorly and there were no modes that encouraged you to keep playing it. Rugby League Live 2 is a step up. It plays better and features far more content.

This is consistent with what everyone has stated all along, i.e. RLL2 is much better than RLL1 and TBH this review is what fills me with confidence regarding the DBC franchise. If we can have similar incremental improvements over the iterations, we can agree DBC14 is in safe pair of hands (pun intended) :p

There is also a sinister side to this, unfortunately bigger games advertise on these site, we do not.

@fonz - you won't find this on Google, I know that's hard to believe(!) but I have actually said only a page ago the RLL wasn't our best game. Stop trolling.

There are no cricket games around and haven't been for some time.

Just curious to establish if this game will release this year and if the hype surrounding it is well founded.

Hey Ross @ BigAnt....its 1 Dec 2013....that means I might get my crummy little paws on DB14 sometime soon aye? :yes

Have you guys confirmed your PC distribution channels to anyone as yet? ie. will I be able to download from say Steam (preferred) or something like that?

I guess we have no other option but to wait and play the game when it comes out to make the call.
