One of the most thrilling ELA matches and easily the most thrilling ELA final to date comes to a close with Sydney Roosters crowned champions of Season III, a season in which the balance of power between the teams changed dramatically with two-time champions West Coast ending up with the wooden spoon, the usually consistent Melbourne ending up second-last and the worst teams of Season II ending up in the final.

Although Moises Henriques (81* & 2/55 off 9), Shaun Tait (3/37 & that epic 3*) and Jacques Kallis (with the ice cool 49*) were pretty impressive, the Man of the Match award was presented to Jonathan Trott who scored an uncharacteristic 56-ball 70 to help Sydney recover from some big early blows en route to a successful run chase.
