Just wondered what people thought of the England players stance to not give any media interviews after last nights match against Poland.
The players view point is that the vitriolic attack of certain members of the team by the press since the Austria game stepped over the mark, hence the blanket snub.
The media's view point is that the players are being hypocritical. They use the media for their own gain in various ways, eg Neville and Owen write newspaper columns, and were it not for Sky's money, the inflated ?50,000+ a week wages that the players earn would simply not be possible.
Add to this of course that they are snubbing the loyal supporters who stump up ?30+ a time to watch club and international football
My own view is that the players should have avoided the papers/journalists etc that they felt overstepped the mark, or at least confronted them about the comments, and they should have spoken to the rest of the media as usual.
What about your opinions ?
