Q: So Matthew, hows your boys from Windy Hill?

M: Pretty good, we have a good side this season and our new draftees are settling it very will down at Windy Hill.

Q: Now the Dons had a good season last year but didnt make finals. How do you feel about your chances this season?

M: I reckon we will have a much better season and as i said earlier, we have a very strong side and we could be a massive threat in the comp.

Q: Thanks for talking to us mate, all the best and good luck.

M: Cheers mate.

Round 1 NAB Cup Bombers v Bulldogs

Odds: Essendon $1.70
Odds: Bulldogs $ 2.00

Well come back to the Footy show as I, Garry Lyon, will talk you through the NAB Cup Round 1 Blockbuster between the Bombers and the Bulldogs. Now the Bulldogs have a strong and experienced side while the Bombers have a young squad which will include David Zaharakis who will be making his unofficial debut. Now I`m tipping the Bulldogs to win as they have a more experienced side than the Bombers but it wont be a smashing, in fact it will probably be very close and it will be a cracker of a game. Now the odds clearly favour the Bulldogs to win against the Bombers at Etihad, And now for the key players. For the Bulldogs, Skipper Brad Johnson will have an impact in the forward line while Brownlow Medalist Adam Cooney will also have an impact. And for Essendon, Skipper Matthew Lloyd will be handful up forward while guns like Lovett-Murray and McVeigh will have a big impact. And thats all from me and as we say goodbye to you, here are the squads for both teams. See you later folks.

Essendon Squad V Bulldogs
B-Henry Slattery-Paddy Ryder-Dustin Fletcher
HB-Andrew Welsh-Adam McPhee-Nathan Lovett-Murray
C- Jason Winderlich-Brent Stanton- Jobe Watson
HF-Samuel Lonergan-Scott Lucas- Jay Neagle
F- AngusMonfries-Matthew Lloyd (C)- Alwyn Davey
Ruck: David Hille Ruck Rover: Mark McVeigh Rover:Andrew Lovett

Interchange:Brent Prismall, Jay Nash, Courtenay Dempsey, David Zaharakis

Bulldogs Squad V Bombers
B-Ryan Hargrave-Brian Lake-Lindsay Gilbee
HB-Nathan Eagleton- Cameron Wight- Mitchell Hahn
C-Daniel Giansiracusa-Ryan Griffen- Matthew Boyd
HF-Josh Hill-Wayde Skipper-Jarrod Harbrow
F-Jason Akermanis- Robert Murphy- Brad Johnson
Ruck: Will Minson-Ruck Rover:Adam Cooney- Rover: Daniel Cross
Interchange:Andrejs Everitt-Sam Reid- Shaun Higgins-Dale Morris

I think Essendon's youth might be enough to win them this game, if they run the ball through the midfield. They are playing a young side with the exception of Lucas, Lloyd, Fletcher and a few others.

Keep up the good work - the updates are looking good so far.

Essendon off to Good start

Welcome back to Channel 10`s coverage of the pre-season competition. Now, how was this for a match? It was a ripper, thats what it was. The Skipper Matthew Lloyd kicking a magnificient goal 50m on the final 30 seconds which gave the Bombers, making them 4 point winners.Speaking of Lloyd, he had a brilliant game getting 4 majors and 21 touches. Good stuff for the skipper indeed. The Bulldogs were doing very well but sloppy defence resulted in Lloyd getting mark on the 50m arc, therefore giving Essendon the win.David Zaharakis made his unofficial debut today and he had many areas to improve on. He got 6 touches and no score playing on the forward flank. Now Matthew Knights will not take this too harshly as it was only his debut and really, you cant expect him to grab 20 or more touches on his first senior game.Nathan Lovett-Murray was reported for striking Nathan Eagleton earlier on. I very much doubt that he will get any punishment at all. It was very soft, I dont even know why the ump reported him.Ruckman Will Minson also got reported for umpire contact. Both players will be at the Tribunal soon and we will bring you all the tribunal news the next time we see you. So the Bombers winning against the Bulldogs in a thriller, to 76-72. See you later.

Good start to this story mate. Angus Monfries is a gun :D:D Good win, and good luck with the next match mate, i think the Bombers will be right in touch with the top 8, but will just miss out with percentage.

yeah you should try FFX its really good fun. Speaking of FFX, has anyone tried doing it with Express Speed? Everytime i`ve tried it on Express i get smashed lol.

Welcome back to the Footy Show as we talk you through the up and coming match, Essendon V Geelong. I, Garry Lyon, personally think this will be a very one-sided match. I dont think the Bombers have a good enough side to win against the Cats. * Geelong fans Cheer*. Um, this game will be at Etihad Stadium. Now the only way the Bombers can win, if they can shut down Geelong`s Midfield, and that, is probably one of the toughest jobs in the AFL. With the likes of Bartel, Ling, Ablett, this will be a very tough but winnable game for the Bombers. The Bombers do have a pretty good midfield you`ve got to say. they`ve got McVeigh, Stanton, Lovett, Lovett-Murray, and Watson, who we, will be talking to later on. Now we better go to a break before Sam starts screwing around so as we go to the break, here is the interview with Jobe Watson and the Squads.

Garry: G`day, Jobe, how`s life down at the Essendon Footy Club?

Jobe: Yeah, very good, i`m loving it in here and everyone`s been good.

Garry: Now mate, as we all know, Nathan Lovett-Murray got reported for striking, and so did the Bulldogs Ruckman Will Minson, how did that go?

Jobe: Yeah mate, that was unfortunate for us, but thankfully Nathan didnt get suspended and got a minor fine. I heard from Nathan that Minson will miss 1 game but thats about it.

Garry:How do you rate your pre-season so far mate?

Jobe: Pretty good i think, I really feel that my fitness level grew higher and i got a bit stronger and really thats the point of the pre-season. It`s been a little bit tough, considering our intensive 2 day fitness camp, but we can feel the benefits of it and its all good mate.

Garry: How do you rate the new kids at your club mate?

Jobe: Well, they`ve been settling in very well, and one of them, David Zaharakis played last week against the Doggies and he did alright for his first senior game. But obviously he`s got many areas to improve on and needs abit more experience to play with the big guys.

Garry: Well Jobe, I`ll leave you to it mate and thanks for talking to us on the Footy Show.

Jobe: No problems mate, always a pleasure.

That's a very young Essendon squad going up against one of the best teams in the past decade. Geelong's strength and big bodies in the midfield will be too much for your smaller bodies like Lovett, and Davey in the midfield.

Geelong to win by 40 odd points.
A good update mate, starting to like the presentation as well.
