I was just wondering weather anyone has any good tips for setting fields. I usually concede a lot of runs when bowling, and I reckon it could be because my field placeings arn't very good :(

I usually set the attacking field when the batsman is new to the crease, the more defensive one when he is settled in and the very defensive one when he has passed 100.

Also, I sometimes change my field depending on the batsmans preferences and/or which areas of the pitch he had been scoring lots of runs.

i dont think you should ever go fully defensive in a 4 day game you should always have atleast 1 slip in

a tip for one day bowling with spinners in the latter overs of the match create a ring field so there are tight singles and only fours if they place it realy well and you should find you get allot of caughts and run out if you dont you still shouldn't be going for allot of runs
