Michel Platini's plans for Euro 2016 and beyond​

- 24 teams qualify from 54 member nations. Euro 2012 had 16 qualifiers.
- Hosts France will play in qualifying but their points in their group will not count. Their matches count as 'centralised friendlies'.
- Qualifiers will be spread across a 'week of football', with teams playing Thursday/Sunday, Friday/Monday or Saturday/Tuesday.
- Euro 2020 has no host but will be spread across European cities.
- UEFA have floated plans to regulate friendlies into a league system.
