5 OVER ROUND UP

wwddhk.png

Hello everyone and welcome back to this ESPN Star Sports worldwide broadcast of Flembo Islands tour match against Combined West Indies Universities. Last time you were with us Flembo Islands set up a modest below par total of 116 which means Combined West Indies Universities will need an easy 117 for victory. ESPN Star Sports would also like to congartulate Gary123 for winning our half time competition

In the first over saw West Indies test opener Omar Philips get lucky with a nick that went over second slips head for a four, followed by a quick single on the last ball to retain the strike.

Some bad balls from Kenyan born Otis Bonnet helped Omar Philips pile on another 10 runs eventually handing over the strike to young Kieran Powell.

The third over was just as expensive with 9 runs coming from it, 7 of those belonging to the big hitting Omar Philips who blasted his way to 22 off of 16 balls which included 4, 4's.

Otis Bonnet soon calmed them down as he got 6 balls to bowl at Kieren and looked lethal out there and had Powell ducking and diving all over the place. Followed up by another quiet over of just 4 runs bowled by Ethan Gillan.

5 OVER ROUND UP

Well 10 overs gone and West Indies Universities are just cruising along without a care in the world thanks to captain Omar Philips. Flembo Islands are really going to have to pull off something magic soon to get back into this game.

In number 6. Kieran Powell remainded unsteady out there and only managed to get a well run 2 from the over. He also sturggled in the 4 balls he faced of the 7th over which set them under the required runrate.

Omar Philips didn't seem too worried thoug has he managed to slap 3 fours in one single over. He honestly looked on fire out there.

Omar Phillips also took advantage of injured Captain Michael Mingol at midwicket scoring 6 runs from the over in that place. Poor Michael Mingol really stuggled to dive down and grap them. Perhaps the 12th Man Colin Tenorio should Come on to replace him.

Ricky Tellis came over for a long awaited bowling change in the 10th over. Benji Waters struck up a very McCullumesque appeal in the first ball claiming that there was a slight nick however nobody supported him and he looked like an absolute fool jumping in the air and screaming by himself. It was a very queit overuntil the last ball where Omar Philips managed to hit the first six of the day in a magnificent shot whacked down the ground.

End of 10 overs
UNIVERSITY OF WI XI 60/0
(R/R: 6.00 R/R Req: 3.80)
Ricky Tellis 1.0-0-9-0
Junior Hepp 1.0-0-6-0
Omar Philips 42(32)
Kieren Powell 16(29)

5 OVER ROUND UP

Thanks for passing it over to me, Wilky.

Well I must say after these last 5 overs Flembo Islands are back in the hunt. It's still a long shot but they're really fighting back and West Indies Universities XI haven't looked too good.

Junior Hepp managed to bounce back after conceding 6 runs from his first over with an over that consisted of just 1 run followed by Elias Waters making the breakthrough by bowling Kieran Powell out with a terrific Yorker. Powell walked away after adding 17 runs to the board whilst his team were 61/1.

But it was athletic Benji Waters who brought the smell of vicvtory back to Flembo Islands after he took an amazing diving catch above his head to remove Omar Philips who missed out on his half century by 3 runs. There were massive cheers from the small crowd of about 30 odd that had come to watch Flembo Islands first step into professional cricket.

Flembo Islands next task was to remove the highly experienced Devon Smith along with wicketkeeper Chadwick Walton.

Hepp managed to get a maiden in and 9 runs were scored off of the last 3 overs to slow down the run rate.

May I just point out that it was at this time that Flembo Islands were 71/3 so things are very tight with only West Indies Universities being one wicket and run ahead.

End of 15 overs

UNIVERSITY OF WI XI 72/2
(R/R: 4.80 R/R Req: 4.50)
Junior Hepp 4.0-1-12-1
Elias Waters 2.0-0-6-1
Chadwick Walton 2(7)
Devon Smith 4(7)

5 OVER ROUND UP

Welome back to ESPN Star Sports after the break. Now I'd like to tell everyone that West Indies Universities XI are struggling and that Flembo Islands are looking more likely to win but I can't. Despite some economical bowling in the last 3 overs a match winning partnertship is begging to build between Devon Smith and Chadwick Walton.

Elias Waters looked a bit scratchy in the 16th over and Walton managed to hit some timely shots to the boundary. A mistake in the next over from Wilburn Brackett who dropped a fairly straight forward catch may have cost Flembo Islands the match. Otis Bonnet finished his 5 overs and ocnceded 32 runs from it.

Ethan Gillan was bought back into the attack and 3 were conceded off of his final over.

Junior Hepp came in for his final over and despite it being a well bowled over Devon Smith and Chadwick Walton made the most of it and scored 5 runs from it.

The 20th over caused the small crowd to go into a state of shock as injured captain Michael Mingol took the ball. A rather odd looking action as he jumped but didn't raise his right hand infront of him whilst in mid air, instead the action just involved Mingol jumping and then raising his left arm and releasing the ball from his left hand as it brushed his ear. He looked in dire pain but despite the odd action he still only conceded one run from the over and that run coming from a leg bye which had a chance of being given out LBW.

End of 20 overs

UNIVERSITY OF WI XI 97/2
(R/R: 4.85 R/R Req: 4.00)
Michael Mingol 1.0-0-1-0
Junior Hepp 5.0-1-17-1
Chadwick Walton 24(30)
Devon Smith 15(26)

5 OVER ROUND UP

Well hello everyone I'm Ian Chappel and well I'm sad to say that UWI have managed to take this game away with 11 runs being whacked off of 21st over followed by a decent effot from injured captain Michael Mingol who bowled 5 decent dot balls followed by a dodgy single.

Flembo Islands now had a tiny ray of hope that they could hold back UWI and stop them from getting the 9 runs they needed in the 3 overs left. Nevertheless the hope was crushed after experienced Devon Smith whacked two fours over cover to bring victory to the homeside.

All and all it was a good effort from Flembo Islands but certainly not enough. Joi me in a few moments time where we'll have an interview with University Of West Indies captain Omar Philips.
