Team History:
Hedger's Team was founded way back in Season 6, by Brendon Hedger in Australia. They only lasted one season in Australia though, finishing 1st in SOD and T20 while finishing second in youth but moving over to Bangladesh for a new challenge. They made 34 transfers in total in Season 6, some big ones including Farrukh Naeem bought for just under $40,000, Fred Tindall for $44,100, Jack Miller for just under $100,000, Thomas Taafe for around $20,000, William Muddle for a cheap $3,000 and the current captain, Stephen Byrne for $15,000. Season 7 brought a varied season in all formats, champions of One Day 5.10, 3rd in T20 4.7 and 5th in Youth 4.2. Only 3 new signings were made during that season but they were big ones with Malcolm Elgin for $286,000, Bob Kwistel for the record signing at the time of $297,797 and James 'Jimmy' Fiebig, the all-rounder for $200,000 at the end of the season.
Season 8 brought yet another One Day promotion to move up into Division 3 while they finished midtable in both T20 and Youth. That season brought probably Hedger's Team's most succesful fast bowling signing with Graham Phillips for $95,720 who has taken now 325 career OD wickets @ an average of 15.55 in a 145 match career, now thirty years of age. 125 of those wickets have come at his current club, in 52 matches. Another huge signings in that season were also ex U19 Ireland international batsman, Aidan O'Leary and Zafar Ali for $115,762 and $20,000 respectively. Season 9 was a laid-back season for Hedger's Team as they made only 1 new signing as they took 3rd position in their Youth league, 4th in T20 and narrowly avoiding relegation in OD with 6th position.
Season 10 was as frustrating as Season 9 as they just missed out on promotion in both T20 and Youth while again finishing 6th in OD. That season saw the new signing of superstar, LeBron James for a massive transfer of $500,000. To make up for a fifth of this sum, Gilbert Black and Jack Lane were sold for $48,620 and $52,500 respectively. So we are currently in Season 11 as they find themselves in similar places to previous seasons and seem to be giving up on Senior cricket at the end of the season with the announcement that Hedger's Team will be selling nearly all their senior players and focusing just on youth. Norval Watkin has been the biggest transfer of the season, for $400,000 while they have sold pace bowler, Farrukh Naeem for a hundred grand and a few others to make some money. This season has also seen the youth recruit of potential NAT batsman, Ruben Mol who will be looking for a couple of great seasons to make his way into the NAT U19 squad.
