FTP: From the Pavilion general chat

I've already lost a wicket vs Iridium :( 14/1 after 5. It's overcast and a sticky wicket though so 200 would be a very good score I suppose.

Made 235 in the end thanks to an aggressive half-century from my most recent purchase Jamieson. Iridium's going pretty hard at the total though, and is 20/0 after 4.

Kwistel can't field. Phillips can blame him for not taking 5 wickets. 4/40 with a dropped catch 3 balls to go in his final over. The other figures

James 2/35 (7.1) - No dropped catches off his bowling
Kwistel 1/37 (10) - One dropped catch by O'Leary
Fiebig 0/32 (10) - Three dropped catches, one each by O'Leary, Oldroyd and Miller
Tindall 3/19 (7) - Two dropped catches, one each by Ali and O'Leary

O'Leary's fielding training isn't doing much. The annoying thing that his fielding is average still but dropped 3 catches.

Byrne top scored with 84 and took 2 catches while Elgin scored 83*. We won by 105 runs.

This is going to be one tight finish to the league. Agrid South Africa vs Saurashtra Lions today and if Agrid South Africa win, then it will be a 3 way tie at the top between them 2 and me on 28 points each but I'll be in third because of NRR and if Wanderers wins, then they will be on 32 points in first, followed by me in second (28) and jdeus in third (24). And especially if Agrid South Africa win today, that will mean whoever wins the final match of the league (between our 2 sides) will finish second. And if that also happens, then Wanderers will have gone into the last match with low confidence after losing 2 straight games going into the last one.

Also, now Ali and Byrne are the second and third highest run scorers this tournament while Phillips, James and Fiebig are 4th, 5th and 6th respectively. None of my players are yet to take a 5 wicket haul yet.

At the moment, I am really bored so I'm going to do my own team profile thing.

Team History:

Hedger's Team was founded way back in Season 6, by Brendon Hedger in Australia. They only lasted one season in Australia though, finishing 1st in SOD and T20 while finishing second in youth but moving over to Bangladesh for a new challenge. They made 34 transfers in total in Season 6, some big ones including Farrukh Naeem bought for just under $40,000, Fred Tindall for $44,100, Jack Miller for just under $100,000, Thomas Taafe for around $20,000, William Muddle for a cheap $3,000 and the current captain, Stephen Byrne for $15,000. Season 7 brought a varied season in all formats, champions of One Day 5.10, 3rd in T20 4.7 and 5th in Youth 4.2. Only 3 new signings were made during that season but they were big ones with Malcolm Elgin for $286,000, Bob Kwistel for the record signing at the time of $297,797 and James 'Jimmy' Fiebig, the all-rounder for $200,000 at the end of the season.

Season 8 brought yet another One Day promotion to move up into Division 3 while they finished midtable in both T20 and Youth. That season brought probably Hedger's Team's most succesful fast bowling signing with Graham Phillips for $95,720 who has taken now 325 career OD wickets @ an average of 15.55 in a 145 match career, now thirty years of age. 125 of those wickets have come at his current club, in 52 matches. Another huge signings in that season were also ex U19 Ireland international batsman, Aidan O'Leary and Zafar Ali for $115,762 and $20,000 respectively. Season 9 was a laid-back season for Hedger's Team as they made only 1 new signing as they took 3rd position in their Youth league, 4th in T20 and narrowly avoiding relegation in OD with 6th position.

Season 10 was as frustrating as Season 9 as they just missed out on promotion in both T20 and Youth while again finishing 6th in OD. That season saw the new signing of superstar, LeBron James for a massive transfer of $500,000. To make up for a fifth of this sum, Gilbert Black and Jack Lane were sold for $48,620 and $52,500 respectively. So we are currently in Season 11 as they find themselves in similar places to previous seasons and seem to be giving up on Senior cricket at the end of the season with the announcement that Hedger's Team will be selling nearly all their senior players and focusing just on youth. Norval Watkin has been the biggest transfer of the season, for $400,000 while they have sold pace bowler, Farrukh Naeem for a hundred grand and a few others to make some money. This season has also seen the youth recruit of potential NAT batsman, Ruben Mol who will be looking for a couple of great seasons to make his way into the NAT U19 squad.

Yeah. When I had exams, when I was bored, I would just study. Now I've finished my exams and now I'm getting bored so easily.

Great write up there Hedger.:thumbs

I'm pretty happy today as I got some great pop ups but a plop too. Bought an accompalished bowler(expert bowling) for 31k.:)

Brendon do you plan on selling all your senior squad? Or is that even possible? I'm looking to play the youth game as well, but probably will keep some senior players and maybe get some accomplished 20yo at the start of the season to train up for a bit before selling them for a profit.

He plans on playing youths I think. But they would get really fatigued...

I'm keeping every player turning 20 next year and a couple of others so I have around 10 players in my senior squad and then my other youth players can play the matches in the senior squad.

Dominating performance today as well. Phillips ripped through the opposition batting lineup with 6/32 off 8.3 while Tindall took 2/24 (5), Kwistel 1/27 (10) and James 1/19 (5), as they were bowled out for 141. Currently 133/5 with 21 overs remaining.

Elgin 16
Miller 10
Byrne 10
O'Leary 39
Ali 41*
Fiebig 0
Oldroyd 9*

Got a surprise win and a pretty good rating. I really thought i would lose after selling most of my best players. Ended up restricting them for 7/245 and chasing that down in 45.2 overs with 3 wickets remaining. Sivasubramaniam grabbed 96 while Anuradha picked up 4 wickets.

Something is definately fishy. Mark Bagshaw for the opposition took 4/43 off 10 (ER of 4.3), scored 7 runs and took a catch while Graham Phillips took 6/32 off 8.3 (ER of 3.76) and Bagshaw got MOTM. WTF!!!

Graham Phillips is the second highest wicket taker in the One Day league this season with 28 wickets @ 16.57 in 11 matches. Best figures were today's figures of 6/32.

Iridium XI 444 for 2 (Weerasiri 175*, Fudadin 111, Skepple 101*) beat Hudds Hawkers 45 (Kettles 4-10, Kenobi 2-7) by 399 runs

Three centuries in my innings set up a pretty sound thrashing. Big boost to my NRR keeps me well ahead of the pack.

Those 7 runs Bagshaw scored must have been worth heaps. :p
