FTP: From the Pavilion general chat

I was playing a team with a rating of 148,952 in my first round cup match which I got knocked out in. My team rating is 137,241. What's yours, Syl?

Well actually, I had a rating of 142,000 in my first T20 match and 141,000 in my my OD match before the Cup.

Something is wrong with my internet. Running real sluggish. Might have to rain check that friendly.

Pulled a 120 in my T20 game but I had a batter bowling since I forgot to set the orders. Will know more on Friday when I go full strength. My middle order lacks that number 7 which brings down my rating.

Yeah. My #6 and #7 are only capable batsman, one being the keeper and the other being the bowling all-rounder, wrist spinner with expert bowling. Here is my starting XI with batting/bowling/technique/endurance.

1. Elgin - Spectacular/DNB/Outstanding/Reasonable
2. Taafe - Expert/DNB/Accomplished/Reliable
3. Byrne (vc) - Outstanding/DNB/Outstanding/Reliable
4. O'Leary - Outstanding/DNB/Outstanding/Reasonable
5. Ali - Outstanding/DNB/Expert/Reasonable
6. Fiebig - Capable/Expert/Accomplished/Reliable - RWS (B5)
7. Oldroyd (wk) - Capable/DNB/Capable/Reasonable - Accomplished Keeping
8. Kwistel - Poor/Spectacular/Outstanding/Capable - RM (B2)
9. Tindall (c) - Atrocious/Outstanding/Outstanding/Capable - RFS (B3)
10. Phillips - Dreadful/Expert/Accomplished/Accomplished - RFM (B1)
11. James - Poor/Spectacular/Spectacular/Expert - RM (B4)

I do have better alternatives for Phillips but he has lots of experience, at 30 years of age, has a lethal bouncer and takes the wickets. He topped the One Day wicket charts with 41 OD wickets @ 16.54, 19 more than the next best Kwistel who averaged 25.55. And he also topped the OD wicket charts the season before with 39 @ 15.31. In total at the club, in 43 OD matches, he has taken 103 wickets @ 15.05 with 7 5 wicket hauls. He does not play in T20's. I really like the look of my squad this season. My bowling is now great with James now in the squad and Tindall even though has been far below his best in the last couple of seasons still has a good economy. I could probably use a better keeper but I like Oldroyd a lot and one of the players in my team that I have developed a strong attachment to, mainly due to the fact that he was there when Dion Tribe finally got too old.

I mean given a team.

I'm not in the Pavilion Cup... I suppose because I'm not ranked high enough?

You started a bit too late. Yes, you aren't ranked high enough anyway, but the rankings are only updated every week and you joined probably just after it was updated, and hence you couldn't be in there when the fixtures were drawn.

Nice looking team you have there with a nice amount of variation in the bowlers.

Badrinath is my only homegrown player still left, he was my first great youth pull, I think maybe my 8th youth pull. Quite an acheivement for me to still have a homegrown player, because did I mention my team has the higher transfer turnover in FTP :banana2 . It's at $105,755,343. No all-rounders.

holy ████. over $100M. And yeah, your #7 is only ordinary batting. You'd beat me any day. What's your world ranking?

Yeah, over 100 m. I hardly transferred in the first 3 seasons as well. No-one else is close. 5 over 3 million, 12 over 2 million and 24 over 1 million. Out of all the time I have spent in FTP, I'll have spent the most in the forums and probably 2nd in the transfer market and looking at my players and whether I need to sell them. I used to also browse all Nat teams and guess if I'd like a player and offer a huge overpay to owners of Nat players.

World ranking 52. I would beat you, but I think we could have a fair game if I play my 2nd XI.

Anyone looking to trade some 19 year olds for 17 and 18 year olds? I have some decent capable ones and a reliable one plus a fast bowling all-rounder.

From the Pavilion - Free Online Cricket Management Game

Have a look please.

Not going well in my first game. Opposition currently at 135/1 from 11 overs. RR: 12.27. Nothing is going right. My best bowler (Obi-Wan Kenobi, I kid you not) is still going at over 8 RPO. I need to buy more players.

Would it be wise to buy an entire team or just to get a few players and train up the rest?

For seniors only have reliable players. You should be able to go to the TM and get a squad full of them. Might be able to get some accomplished players within your budget as well. Ideally get ones about 20/21 as you can still train them on batting/bowling and turn them into stars.
