FTP: From the Pavilion general chat

Not going well in my first game. Opposition currently at 135/1 from 11 overs. RR: 12.27. Nothing is going right. My best bowler (Obi-Wan Kenobi, I kid you not) is still going at over 8 RPO. I need to buy more players.

Would it be wise to buy an entire team or just to get a few players and train up the rest?

:laugh Hedger has a player called LeBron James, I can't believe people spend money to rename their players

I bought an entire team, all aged 20 with capable primaries (for the batsmen) and accomplished primaries (for bowlers)

I won by 10 wickets in 8.5 overs chasing 128 lol

Oh and bad luck Hedger on not winning the Bermuda manager spot

When you talk about primaries, do you mean just the batting and bowling skills?

BTW, lost my first match by 68 runs. Did better than I thought I did. Probably never in the game when I conceded 233 runs in the 20 overs my opponent had (0 extras believe it or not). Ended up with 165/7. Going to do some shopping on the TM and buy me a team.

I just use primary skill as batting and bowling. More simple that way. Won my second T20 match by 36 runs. Scored 168 from my 20 overs, O'Leary top scoring with 47 off 29 balls, Elgin 31 off 28, Fiebig 24 (15) and Miller 20 (18). Everybody took wickets, as they made 132/9 from their 20 overs. Kwistel 2/33, James 2/24, Tindall 2/21, Muddle 1/28, Fiebig 2/26.

Hopefully next season I actually start getting some competition :)

This week I'm down 32k :/ I haven't had any home matches yet so hopefully they draw a decent crowd, especially since I've been doing quite well recently. I think I need to stop buying players off the TM :p I've bought something like 17 players so far :/

Still got $277k. Better spend it wisely I suppose. It's annoying how you can't play friendly matches immediately and that you have to wait ages.

I'm down 30k or so as well and I've already had a T20 home game. I'm away again for One Day but I have a home youth game so I should be down around 20K on the week and then hope for a decent 9,000 odd crowd for one day.

I have 200k left; I don't know if it's wise to spend too much of it so I think I'm gonna try break even each week now :)

I'm paying 120K a week on wages, 10K on Ground Maintanence and 17K on Academies while I only get 85K in Sponsorship. That means I have to at least 70K in Gate Reciepts a week to make any bit of profit. Let's try and calculate my prize money for the end of season. Using World Rankings at the moment, here would be approximate prize money.

One Day Div 3 - est. position 6th - $122,000 (I'm the second worst rated team in the league but I have a tendency to just survive in One Day so I reckon I'll finish 6th. I don't mind if I relegate though as I can start picking up some better prize money. I get the same amount for coming 4th in Div 4 as 6th in Div 3. First prize money in Div 4 is = to fourth in Div 3)
T20 Div 4 - est. position 3rd - $102,000 (I'm ranked 4th but one team is ranked only one place higher in the world above me and I finished ahead of them last season so I think I would come third.
Youth Div 4 - est. position 2nd - $77,000 (Although the highest ranked team [289th] lost to a team ranked 770th, while I rank 556th so I could finish first)

Total: $301,000 (I think that's right. I just did it in my head)

5k on ground maintenance, 25.9k on wages, 23k on academies.

I get 67k sponsorship, and I received 35.5k last week for gate takings.

I'm in negative this week because I spent 33k on transfers.

Hopefully I come first in my T20 and OD though. That'd be a good windfall

How much of your ground are you filling? 4,000 or so out of the full 5,000 you have?

And I have 5 players above $8,000 a week on wages. LeBron James is my highest paid with $10,364. He has a rating of 49,248. It also helps that he has great secondary skills.

btw. I'm looking for a player with the following abilities.

Age: 19-25
Batting: Reliable-Expert (preferably Accomplished)
Keeping: Capable+ (No more than outstanding)
Technique: Reliable+ (Will do with Capable)
Endurance: Capable+
Cost: About $100,000 max. I won't want to be starting at that price.

I am currently bidding on a player that fits these standards but I'm not sure whether I'll get him so I'll still be looking for players
If you have any players that fit these standards and are looking to sell, just post the players here. And also slightly looking for:

Age: Under 31
Experience: Reliable
Batting: Reliable
Bowling: Accomplished-Expert
Bowling Type: Wrist Spinner but Finger Spinner will do (any hand)
Technique: Reliable+
Endurance: Reasonable+
Fielding: Average+
Cost: $90,000
Notes: Will need someone like Fiebig but with better batting (see From the Pavilion - Free Online Cricket Management Game)

k, cool. It shouldn't take too long until your filing out then. I am regretting upgrading my ground from 7,500 to 10,000 during the offseason after only having a crowd of 7,300 or so in my first home T20 match but I guess I shouls be getting crowds of 8,000 at the moment and the supporter mood is low so until that improves by mid season, I shouldn't be packing out.

First youth game and so far so good. Set a decent score of 276/6 of 40. I expect that to be pulled in quite easily. My opener made a ton and my other opener and no. 3 made 50s. Let's hope 276 is a defendable total.

Last youth game I got wasted so I expected the same thing to happen here. Had a look and we scored 324 from our 40 overs :laugh

Openers scored 76 and 119 at more than a run a ball, and then my #5 smacked the bowlers everywhere hitting 69 off 29 :D One of their bowlers went for 92 off 8 overs lol

They're 32/0 after 4 though so they do have a shot at chasing it... :(

And for some reason I've got a spinner opening the bowling :/

Chewie added 2 Minutes and 25 Seconds later...

Only a crowd of 2088 though :( I suppose that's to be expected at a youth match
