Geely IG to beat Tata Nano as the World's Cheapest Car

To drive to work? To use as transport? What else do you buy a car for... wait, apart from hooning... :facepalm

If you don't mind the risk that you're 1001239098134907143 times more likely to die or get seriously injured than in a bigger/safer car, just to pay a cheap price, then good on you.

Actually, I dare you to get one when you turn 17. I'd love to see you rock up to school in that.

This care is not for people like you. It is for the lower classes. If you had an ounce of intelligence in you, you would realize that. There are a number of people who would line up to buy this car in China.

That is a bit harsh don't you think. The fact is not all people can afford really good cars. However that does not stop them from dreaming of owning one. People most likely to buy the cheapest car will be from lower classes.
I do not think they will mind a car which does not look good or is uncomfortable. Because for them it is dream to own a car (especially the lower classes of people in India).

I cannot comment on the safety features of Nano or Geely IG because I honestly do not know how safe or unsafe they are to drive.

Why wouldn't they get a second hand car, that's pretty cheap, but a lot better, for not much more price?

Sadly the situation is so bad, that even affording a third hand car is difficult at times. Like I said for the lower classes, owning a car is a luxury (an impossible dream for most)
Nano helps cater to the needs of those people who wish to buy a car but cannot afford it.

Of course there are cheap minded people who want to save money. :p
But lets not count them. :laugh

the main problem here is that cars are extremely expensive in India. you can get a good second hand car here for lets say $4000-5000. the same car would be for $10,000-11,000 in India. Now compare that with the annaul average salary of a person living in NZ and IND, and you can see why people cant afford it. the reason why cars are so expensive in India is because cars are still viewed as a luxury item not a necessity.

Hang on so by Jakes reckoning here, the cars he buys/drives all look good, and are comfortable, and all do a decent speed? Ok, so who's funding this for you mate? I agree with those who say you talk absolute balls at times.

I'd buy one of those, I'd not touch a motorway with it, but I'd buy one. Cheap (I'm guessing replacing parts etc is also cheap) and they work.

Don't waste your time, he is not even old enough to drive :laugh

This car might do well in China, but there is no way on hell it would pass highway safety inspections in Western countries. I doubt it even has airbags. I was involved in a wreck a few years ago and my life was basically saved by the side airbags. Ever since then my entire family refuses to buy/drive cars without at least 8-10 airbags in it.

Well the cars I've driven all look decent, do good speeds and are comfortable.

That's not the point. What I'm saying is, it's not hard to buy a used car for a cheap price that's a better alternative to that.

That's right mate. I'm not the legal age to drive, I know nothing about cars.

That's china car.It would be cheap. As cheap things of china are founded everywhere. So a example for a car as well. But by seeing its pictures, its looking far better than Nano and hope that it has more life time.(As its other things doesn't lasts long)

its obviously a 2 seater, i wouldn't want to sit in the back if it was a four seater; i dont see the space.
