Hi everyone, i felt pity for tendulkar today. Once again he has been undone by umpire for two matches in a row. I mean how bad cud it be! Two bad lbw decision which Simon taufel wud never gave out. So do u all like me feel there should be some aid for umpires as even a one bad decision can change the outcome. Personally i am in favour of using replay by 3rd umpire as hawkeye is not 100%. Lemme know your views.

Update: Damn another blinder. How come umpire miss that big inside edge.Yuvi gone to a bad decision

In the West Indies vs New Zealand test series you could challenge the umpires decision, and it then went o the third umpire. Hawkeye was never available for the 3rd umpire, and never should be. I don't mind the challenge rule, but I like leaving it to the umpires. Makes it exciting and it's part of the game. Your complaining that Tendulkar got 2 bad decisions in a row, but I bet he's got his fair share of lucky decisions.

Video replays wouldn't be too bad but hawkeye should never be used. I think they should just leave it up to the umpire. Bad decisions even out over time, sometimes you're lucky and sometimes you're not.

Hawkeye's still not 100% accurate, so cannot be used. Hotspot on the other hand could be used to detirmine if an inside edge has occured, there's no way that the third umpire can determine whether the ball is going to hit the stumps by using Hawkeye, unless the decision is stonewall, by which you'd expect him to see on footage anyway. The only way Hawkeye can be used is to show whether the batsman was hit outside the line or not, and where the ball pitched. Hawkeye is still not accurate enough to be used by the 3rd Umpire for LBW decisions.

I wud prefer challange rule too. Similar rule had such an impact in tennis.Player are now going for more winners.

Well tendulkar's share of lucky decision is very low. Remember how bucknor was a menace for him.

Human error adds interest to the game? What's the point in following traditions just for the sake of it?! If possible, we should try to make the current technology even better, more accurate. Then, considering the status of development in the electronics field, setting up a system that allows the on field umpires themselves to view replays on a small screen, as also hear nicks, shouldn't be a big problem. There should be no need for the third umpire then, also letting the on field umpires keep their authority. Whatever that remains of it, that is!:P

yeah! U want umpires to wear james bond goggles. Gr8.
My name is bucknor! Steve bucknor.

Tendulkar has had more than his share of unlucky dismissals that we're no more outraged at him getting out to terrible decisions.

I am all for technology's involvement in the game, as long as technology provides substantial increase in the quality of the game, an aspect of which is very good accuracy during referrals. Hawkeye is 99% accurate, and hence is better than any umpire, even Simon Taufel. Hence it should be made available to the third umpire.

Dont get angry precum. I was just trolling. Though the james bond goggles are possible. As umpire can see replay instantly, thus time wasting in referal wud be avoided.

Now am angry that you call me precum, although without it there would be no humankind.

LOL! But I was thinking of a gadget like a PDA, with wi-fi, letting the umpires get replays out in the middle.

Maybe we should let Dhoni umpire. He is perfect so would be unable to make an incorrect decision.

Hawkeye doesn't work. I don't really trust hot spot either, sometimes it sounds like the bats hit the ball, looks like it but nothing shows up. I would just suggest get over it because nothing can be done or will be done on lbw's. I mean there are those 50/50 ones that most probaly would clip the top of the stumps, technically they're out but how can you conclusively say that.

Give umpires new age mobile phones with TV replay technology to let them decide on close shouts.

i feel ICC should shoot one or two oldie umpires and set an example for other umpires, as this could happen to them if they make mistakes :D :p

Hawkeye is predictive and should never be used in an official decision of an LBW appeal.
