Help with icc 2010 understanding.....

Yea it's too hard to adjust ratings based on feedback because everyone has their own biases towards different players

I don't mind little ones, it's just the blinding obvious ones.
Like in the original ICC09 release, would it of been that hard to just look at a spreadsheet of the best batsmen, and see Hughes was first and bump him down a bit?

Well New Zealand ratings are for the most part accurate, though I feel Shane Bond, Daniel Vettori and Kyle Mills need bowling boosts. Tim Southee possibly as well, and a batting one, but that could be taken as bias. Oh and Grant Elliott needs a batting boost. And Nathan McCullum a bowling one. Kieran Noema-Barnett needs an overall boost. But apart from that... :p NZ ratings are ok

Corey Anderson is rated way, way too low IMO, as is Nick Beard. Going by this game Anderson's one of the worst bowlers in New Zealand :( Although being so young maybe he has a better chance of improvement throughout the game?

A few guys seem to be very overrated also, Mark Gillespie, Anaru Kitchen, Warren McSkimming, Jeet Raval (slightly) and Sam Wells (Very overrated).

I didn't include all the NZ players, only the ones who interest me, so there are some worse ones. Yes I agree that a few players are overrated, mostly batsmen, but that could have been done to make us a bit more fair :laugh

I think in general, the batsmen are overrated (apart from Taylor and Elliott who are underrated), and the bowlers underrated.

Seeing as this is a sort of "help with ICC 2010 thread" I was wondering how much certain players will improve during the game? I'm currently playing as New Zealand and have played for about 12 months now and during this time I have seen a tiny amount of improvement in Tim Southee's bowling (I'm just using him as an example for this). If I keep working on his bowling with the technique option how much would I expect him to improve by when he's 25-26? Does improvement happen even without telling you?

Yea I think improvement happens naturally, and then there is extra on assigning technique training to the players. Even if it doesn't tell you I think improvement will still happen. Personally I've never had the game tell me that a player has improved lol

Oh, what I mean by the game telling you such and such has improved is when after a game for example it will come up with something like "Tim Southee has improved his accuracy" I was just wondering if players still actually improved over time without those sorts of things having to happen.

Yea I'm pretty sure they do (And I did know what you meant)

I'm just going by the ratings that Chewie gave us.

Batting:

Guptill, Elliot and Styris all look to be way underrated.
Raval, Kitchen and Wells all look to be slightly overrated.

Bowling:

Vettori, Mills, Nicol, Williamson, Southee and Martin all look to be way underrated.

I'll probably make a new roster sometime
