Hi just got cricket 2004 a few weeks ago, after playing 2002 for years. I must say I like the improvements.

The one thing that annoys me though is the appaling CPU batters and bowling in general. The first game I had was an ODI against Australia I was England and I ended up bowling them out for 54 runs. I thought that was a bit odd.

However the next game I had was in an ODI World series, I was England playing against Bangledesh, easy I thought. However bowling a good line and length just outside off stump was getting my seamers smashed for 4 and my usual trick of bowling the occasional bouncer went for 4 wides every time.

In the end I 'bowled' Bangledesh out for 170 runs but 9 of their wickets fell due to suicidal run outs and I bowled a tail ender out with Collingwood in swinging.

Batting is great with just a few minor oddities (like why is Flintoff the default opener for England), but the bowling is just not right. I can't seem to get wickets with spinners or seamers as no matter how much I move the Seam/spin marker thing the ball does nothing. So far Medium swing bowlers have been the only limited sucess I have experienced.

Can somone give me some bowling tips or ways of getting around the AI.

Thanks

Download an AI patch.I suggest you wait for Tutsi's latest patch which is releasing early tomorrow.

Hm....remember to not get the ball to far away from the stumps..to to get it in line with the stumps...what I do..I picked up 6 wickets with Sami once..5 of them bowled out..just place the marcor at the stumps and go to full left with the spin thing and full power....! I am not that good at explaining, maybe som other can! Good luck!
