How will Drake perform on Twenty20 d?but against United Arab Emirates?

another good update, wonder if atkinson is dead? but they probably wont go to tanzania after this.

Great job there, that was weird although, lucky they got the wrong bus, hopefully nobod'ys dead or injured to badly

A couple where's instead of were and a few more mistakes, but that's okay

lol, this reminds me the SriLankan trouble in Pakistan some period ago. :p Action filled cricket movie huh? :D Keep up the good work.

Drake and the whole bus would be stunned after that. Luckily, they knew they got the wrong ones before actually finishing you all.

I like this 'Cricket' Story inspite of the fact that there still has been no cricket yet. :p

That's the best part of the story really, what more could you want from a "cricketing" story? Cricket in a cricketing story would be silly, people would be arrested for ridiculous ideas like that a few hundred years ago.

Sarcasm post is fail.

More updates please. :clap

HONG KONG CRICKET BUS ATTACKED

The Hong Kong cricket side has been the talk of the town for the last month, new coach Steven Atkinson promised the nation a reform in the cricket team however now it looks like his plans have been faulted as there have been reports that the bus carrying the squad to Tanzania was ambushed on the Kenyan/Tanzanian border.

What a group of ambushers would want with a cricket team is completely unknown and certainly beyond me, but a similar incident happened to the Sri Lankan cricket team in Pakistan last year, a place where cricket is a more well known sport and a place where safety has certainly been an issue over the past few years.

The mother of a 15 year old boy in the squad, Drake Thorpe, was in tears when we interviewed her earlier. She said that she "had been speaking with him (Drake) on the phone just moments before the accident." She said the two had been having an argument before she suddenly heard a loud bang over the phone followed by numerous groans and more loud bangs."

Full Story On Page 5

Yeah, sort of agree - this bomb thing is kinda dragging on.
But knowing TGS he'll have some good plot twist in mind that'll make this part of the story worthwhile...

Enough of that, lets get into the cricket.

I'd love to get CC09 TBH, for the lower league/quality teams etc.

DW fully aware of this. 1 more 2 part chapter and then all the cricket you like, I promise :p

I reckon Drake won't receive any more scoldings from his mother after this incident. :p

CHAPTER 3: A TASTE OF TWENTY-20: PART 1

A week ago, a man named Richard Hobbis died. Who is Richard Hobbis? One might ask. He was an ordinary working man, an ordinary family man, he set off at 8:30 each morning to his job as a lawyer for a multinational food company before returning home at 6:30 to his loving wife and two young daughters. Oh and he also played a bit of cricket for his country in his spare time. Sadly though on April 17th 2:30 Kenyan Time, Richard Hobbis died of blood loss. He was travelling in a bus with his squad to Tanzania when his bus attacked by a bunch of ambushers. He was shot in the thigh and in the shoulder and bled to death squished between a broken bus seat and my elbow.

R.I.P

We discovered shortly after the attack that the attackers had been after government officials, specifically the ones who had helped us soon after the attack, our bus was in shambles after the attack, Once everybody had been pulled out of the bus Chris Newell took a photo with his phone of the damaged bus. That was one for facebook I thought ;).

The team had been staying in a group of small but well designed lodges in Tanzania near the poorly prepared ground which we'd play all of our matches on. There were 5 of us to each lodge, being the two youngest in our lodges Jamie and I were forced to sleep on the couches. At night Jamie and I didn't talk much he was very quiet when Courtney wasn't around.

The atmosphere in the squad had been very bleak since the accident. Hardly anyone spoke to one another. The older members of the squad who had clearly known Richard well were all very upset and looked like somebody had been slapping them in the face with a fish continuously for the last few hours.

The ICC had asked us if we wanted to pull out of the tournament but Mr. Atkinson refused, one large setback wasn't going to spoil his dreams of bringing home glory to the small nation of Hong Kong. I admired his courage but I could tell some of the team members didn't agree with his decision.

***

It was an early in the morning and by the looks of it the Tanzanian sky was going to promise us a blistering hot sunny spring day. The team was eating an inadequate breakfast in a large dining hall which walls were covered with the heads of poor helpless hunted animals. Mr Atkinson boldly stood up at the head of the table. All eyes immediately fixed on him.

"Now boys," he paused to make sure he had everybody's undivided attention.
"I know it has been a jolly tough week and many of you are still morning the loss of Richard, god bless his soul, but I bring good news to you all," his smile was the first I'd seen in a whole week.
"I know for some sad reason are friendly match against Kenya was cancelled for some unknown reason, and if it wasn't we wouldn't be in this ruddy mess, but thankfully the good chaps at the United Arab Emirates cricket board have offered to play a one off friendly Twenty20 match against us on April the 26th to get us warmed up for the tournament." There were cheers from the table which was a good sign.
"Yesterday United Arab Emirates gave Uganda a jolly good whipping in the Division 2 finals, now in two days time let's make sure they don't do that to us!"

More cheers came from everyone at the table and for the first time in quite a while I knew things were going to be just fine.

TGS

Good news everyone!
You're going to see some cricket in this chapter after all, huzzah's all round!
