I cant load cricket 2002

Hi Experts,

I cant load cricket 2002 game. when i click the icon it just loads to the EA sports and just returns back to desktop. Before it used to play good, Now i have this problem past two days. I am using windows ME platform. Also another Question is when i load the game in Windows Xp it Crashes while Loading the Match (just before the match begining). Guys please Help it is really frustrating.

click on the user.ini file in the cricket 2002 directory
Please check whether the directories are entered correctly

InstallLevel = 1
CDDriveLetter = E:
NetworkRootPath = root Directory

[System]
RootPath = Directory/data

If this is already correct
please tell me which is the directx version
If it is dx8.1 ore something , please install dx9
Even if u have dx9 already , reinstall it
Try uninstalling the previous version with a software like directx buster
It will work
The same thing happened to me twice and this solution did work

You may be clicking on the wrong icon, If you start the game from the disk it won't work unless you install it.
If you trying doing what I just said you will get the EA Sports symbol and the game won't run.

Make sure it's installed properly. I have ME and it works fine.

yes i have done all these things still it's in Vain. When i play in Windows xp It will freezes just after it loads the Ground ( when introducing the mathc by Rithcie benaud).

I am using On baord Video card which is intel graphic 82810 card ( 11 mb )

please help me

Have you followed the instructions properly above by Adi,

Maybe You should check troubleshooting in the manual and that might fix your problem.
Update your video driver perhaps. Maybe you didn't install it properly and deleted some files from the captures folder.

I have intel 82810 too and it works with both ME and xp
though on xp performance will be little poorer than in ME
Install the latest drivers for intel 82810
Please click on run
type dxdiag
and enter
On the 1st screen click on save all information and attach the dxdiag.txt file in the next post
we can troubleshoot

Do u already have dx9 installed
If so i suggest u this software
Dxbuster
go to google and search for dxbuster downloads
Download this software and uninstall dx9 completely
Make sure that u have the dx9 installer with u otherwise u might land into trouble
If u don`t have the dx9 installer , then i suggest u not to uninstall dx9
If u can download dx9 , then good luck to u

I had the same probl;em and first i had dx8.1 with me
Becoz i got the newer version of dx , it got installed without any problem
The problem with u is that , u already have the higher version and dx wont overwrite the previous installation of dx bcoz it is already installed
But do make sure that u have an installer of dx9 either by downloading or thruu other sources
Best of Luck
Try reinstalling the game if u have a legal copy though !!
DO u have the game cdrom
Then totally uninstall and then reinstall

I could figure it out from DXdiag that i had some Registry keys missing. I have fixed my problems and now i can play in both OS, thanks for your help
