when i play an ODI match now anything that goes past the batsman goes for 4 byes EVERY time. i have tried all the odi patches in the downloads section and cant find a way to fix this. can someone please help me?????

have you tried my ODI configs update patch cause I don't get this problem. Does this happen for fast bowlers or spin bowlers ?

yeah it happens to me also........
this happened only after i installed the ODI patches ........the bowling speed is increased .......and i mostly happens to fast bowlers , some times it even goes for six byes..(the umpire only shows 4)
think can u fix it

You guys must be using a patch which has REALLY increased the fast bowlers speed, coz this never happens to me and I use zim's ODI patch.
The only time it does happen is v occasionally to spinners (the keeper occasionally misses the ball if the batsman has played and missed, and a couple of byes can be run), but I think this adds realism.

yep, with my latest patch. you should only ever get byes when using a spinner, and even then its rare.

I think you guys are using six and out's bowling tweak, where he made the bowling speeds quicker etc

I am also getting the byes problem..also swing bowlers are impossible to play (too fast) and slow ball from fast bowlers sometimes goes up till batsman's head!

hey
i think you all have installed the coolpatch, that could be a problem.

Zimrahil and others,

Is there any way to reduce the bounce on green/hard wickets? The speed is good but I think ball tends to bounce more on these pitches.
Also on my machine mid-fast bowlers are bowling faster than fast-bowlers. Anyone else having this problem?

its funny that, most people wanted more bounce on harder and green wickets.

It can be changed, its the settings in the fast, offspin, legspin and swing.cfg files.
I cannot remember the field off hand that needs to be changed , but I think its "wicket restitution y" or something like that - the lower the value, the lower the bounce

Also , I am intrigued your mid fast bowlers bowl quicker than your fast bowlers, and no-one as yet has managed to change the settings to achieve this.

Can you post on this site the settings in your (t)internat.cfg file assuming you play on test level that is, or please mail me your file

thanks

The 4 byes syndrome usually happens with "Speed up bowler"
patches.
Zim's ODI patch doesn't have this problem for me.

Seems one can't just go at patching with gay abandon.

I'm sure( well I "think" i'm sure :)), that if Codemasters could
have had great looking fast ball's, flying of the pitch and past
the batsman at great speed, they would have already
done it.

Zimrahil,

the speed difference is strange isn't it? I rechecked with Pollock (mid) - Donald (fast) and McGrath (mid) - Gillespie (fast). Good length deliveries from mid-fast bowlers tend to bounce over keepers head and end up on sight screen! (I am playing on test level)

I will email you the files..

cheers,
Shailesh

shailesh,

u might be using some teaked files that changes the bowler speed and bounce.
may be some time the value of the gravity is changed.
try to use the normal settings files

I think most of the problems with BLC have originated to the various patches made by editing the config files. I think anyone who makes a patch should also include a tutorial with the zip file on how to change the config. I mean how to make the patch by yourself and how to uninstall it.....

This would not only suite everyones' need but also give evryone his own choice....

another solution is to do what I do, and that is to get people from this forum to test your patches first before uploading them to BLC Online.....
