Braod? Never heard of him.
I'd say they are pretty even but I'd say that Broad has the potential to be better.
I included O'Brien's stats against England and the West Indies. Take out his wickets against Bangladesh and his average goes up to 40.52, that's higher than Broad's average, by effectively 3 runs.

I wasn't being exactly serious with my first post, and feel they're basically dead even. O'Brien performed well in 08 without being exceptional, and Broad's started to bowl with more consistency since late 08 into 09. O'Brien was the better bowler in 2008 as a whole, but if I was pushed to pick a guy for my team going by what I've seen over their Test careers, I'd go for Broad. May just be because I've seen more of him. They're very evenly matched.
He was a bit lucky because they played 4 games against Bangladesh and found favourable seam bowling conditions in both England and Australia. Although consistent, he was only brilliant a couple of times. I think that sums up his bowling. There are bowlers who bowl a better outswinger or get more bounce and a lot of bowlers who are faster. He does a good job for what he's worth, but is stuck in the middle a bit.Are you honestly kidding me; Iain O'Brien was consistently brilliant in 2008.
