Does this mean they will get better commentators and graphics for World Cups and Champions Trophys?

Definately.
Under this new deal,ESPN-Star will produce the feed for all tournaments and the same would be passed onto the other telecast houses.

I'm really very happy. Finally we'll be getting quality broadcast.

Harsha Bhogle, Sunil Gavaskar, Geoffrey Boycott, Ravi Shastri, Alan Wilkins and Wasim Akram covering the 2011 WC. Now that's a dream come true. :D If they can somehow get Tony Greig, that'll be awesome. He brings excitement to his commentary. It'll be a respite from Sony Max, Mandira Bedi and her cleavage! The Sony Max pre-show was fast becoming a soft porn show.

It's amazing listening to some one like Wasim Akram and Alan Donald. They are so good with their comments.

Also, I hope ESPN-Star takes back Sidhu. The Boycott-Sidhu pair is just amazing. Who wants to watch cricket? :D

ESPN-Star back with cricket. This is great news! Harsha Bhogle is one of my favorites for Indian commentators. Hopefully we will get back cricket coverage like the good old days in the late 90s. With ZEE and S Max ivolved, cricket for Indians looked like a joke. Lets hope that ESPN-Star is much smarter than the GCC with cricket Broadcasting. I did like the 03 world cup coverage though. Wasnt too bad. Then again it might be because it was the first cricket I watched in over a year.

The Mandira Bedi and Co. telecast was only for India. Here in the UAE it was the official feed with David Gower, Mike Atherton, etc. which I guess was the case for most other countries.

Yes, but we had to actually bear the Sony max crap back here. It felt more like a semi porn show with Barry Richards, Tony Greig and Arun Lal trying to impress Mandira, rather than talking about cricket. . You just had to watch ol' Barry. :D

Tony Greig is one of the best commentators out there, but even he can't do anything when the rest of the commentary team is crap.

Well,we bear them for just one more series now-World Cup 2007
unless ESS ropes in Mandira,so that Shaw and Waz would actually have a go at her :p

I thought Tony Greig,Geoffrey Boycott and John Wright were pretty decent on the show.
Hope ESS gets them in some-how.

I sincerely hope that ESS don't rope in Mandira. :P She was included to get women interested in cricket--but women in India are not going to get into cricket if a women is presenting a show! We need our cricket team to be... well... hot.

What was great to laugh at was the DD emulations 'fourth umpire' and 'straight drive'.
