"We thought it would be a very competitive total. It was a good surface but the slower balls were holding. Hats off, UAE. It's frustrating, but UAE were deserved winners. They certainly showed their experience. Showed great character. It was a great experience leading this side, shame that we couldn't win the final, but there are a lot of positives. Every team is trying to find the balance between bat and ball. It's always a struggle to find the balance and you are always compromising in one or two areas. But that is one of the joys of the decision making that you are part of. As a team we look back fondly on the season. It's a collective effort from the team. I enjoy the captaincy and it was nice to contribute to the team with the bat and ball personally."

We and Netherlands were the only teams from the last ICC 6NC from 14 years ago and we faced a lot of criticism how other countries have gone on to better position and status while we couldn't do anything great and losing 4 of our 5 group stage games in the beginning. As Anwar told earlier we had a change when we bet our partners Netherlands, who had also faced the same defeats and criticism. But none of these reasons matter, what matters is that we've won it in the end. We made it up in our minds to win every single game that we play after that until we get the trophy in our hands. I'm glad we were able to achieve and I devote the success to the coach Dougie and our managers."
