Imran Khan - The Great Captain - India could not win any test from Pakistan for 19 consecutive years

Imran Khan captained Pakistani team from 1982 - 1992. During his era Pakistan's rival Indian team could not win any test from Pakistan. After Imran's retirement his team continued the same trend for seven more years.

Indian team won next test from Pakistan in February 1999, the previous victory was in January 1980. Total 23 tests were played between them in this period; Pakistan won 5 and 17 were draw, finally India won in February 1999 after long wait. This win against Pakistan came after 19 consecutive years for India.

Don't get the point here. Yeah, we couldn't, because we had a crass time back then, which was severely over-dependant on three/four star players. But so..? What's the big deal?

Well he is without a doubt one of the greatest players Pakistan has produced and he lead the Pakistan team well during his time as captain.. but what is the point of this thread?

Maybe you should try writing an article about it and maybe post it in the news article forum? (just a suggestion.)

Aha. Good work by Imran. It would be great if you also point out the stats of the Pakistani team over the past 2-3 yrs against us.

When any Pakistani team does half as good as Imran's team did against us, we can have a great debate :).

Thank you very much :)

No doubt about Indian team current performance. They have really recovered well from past results.

5 wins and 17 draws? Not such a great record to boast of. India didnt win, but Pakistan have also not won so much either (17 draws is a testimony). Its not something to be so proud of.

What Sai said. 17 draws and 5 wins, of which 3 came in Pakistan.

Also, this is no surprise. You need 20 wickets to win a Test match--regardless of how the batsmen perform. There's no argument that Pakistan has had better bowlers than India over history.

subcontinent pitches are batting supportive always. and most of the tests get draw results. 5 wins and 17 draws is the ratio in subcontinent and this is par figure.
