Your Cricket Injuries - What was your worst?

nothing major, just three broken thumbs (not all at once obviously), but nothing to cry over

My worst from cricket I only got last Tuesday and it has seemed to got worse. I have a huge lump from when Alex(notts_till_i_die) played a straight drive and hit me right above my ankle, near my shin. It is incredibly painful and we have a national cup match on Wednesday as we won the Lincs cup and we have to play the champions of Cambridgeshire, who have a few batsmen who play for academies. So it is vital I play, but I'm not sure if I can.

I take it the best thing for me is to rest it? Saying that I have just played football for 2 hours so not doing myself any favours.

By a mile, mine was when I got hit by a car whilst on my bike, went about 10 foot in the air, landed awkwardly and broke my leg, not the shin bone, the thigh bone (femur) terribly painful. Came through the skin and everything. It was horrible.

****! I'm tempted to give you a sympathy rep.

When you told me on MSn you said you didn't feel a thing and couldn't remember it?

You might of told me it didn't hurt till you looked at it though...

I got hit while practicing in indoor nets. The one who was bowling me was very quick. Man bounces me as quick as he could and the ball hit me right in the middle of the body closer to me throat. I am an all rounder so i couldn't bowl in the whole season but still managed to bat well. :D :D

I've had a couple.

I've been hit in the box countless of times. I doesn't hurt as much as you think. Worst one was where I didn't know wether to pull or to drive a waist high full-toss and I got hit flush on the box. 06/07 Season

Then our fastest bowler by far bowled a ball that hit me on the leg and I got this sexy seam mark (I had really small pads, don't worry I have new ones now ;) but it only lasted for a couple of days  07/08 Season

When I went to take a catch to my left I got a ball on right of the end of my middle finger and now it has got a permanent bent to it. It doesn't hurt or anything it just looks wierd. 06/07 Season

my worst injury was when i sprained the part where my leg is attached to the rest of my body. could barely move it.

Some of you may have seen me saying I'd damaged my knee here. Well, I found out tonight that I've done the medial ligament in my left knee, so that's the early part of my season over before it's even started.

Now there was an injury about a month ago I was making my bowling runup, and I fell and almost broke my right hand and it hurted for more than 3 weeks. I had to apply cream everyday...

I have a lingering wrist injury. I have gangleons there but I'm not sure if they are doing the damage or if it's RSI, but it's an on and off kind of thing.

On the cricket field, I once got hit by pace on the glove...three times in a row. I lost all strength in my hand and next ball nicked it to the keeper.

Just a side note, the first ball I ever faced hit me in the box XD

But yeah, nothing major and I'd like to keep it that way.

I dislocated my pelvis in the field and missed 6 games last season. was soo bad as i couldn't really move and cost me like $500 in fees to fix it. also had to watch my team win every match i was out of
