International Emerging Talent League | Indefinite hiatus

Right then , this ll be my playing XI as of now :

-TBD- (#)
Murali Vijay
AB de Villiers * + (v)
Fawad Alam
Grant Elliot ^
Ryan ten Doeschate ^
Jos Buttler (#)
Thisara Perera (#) ^
Graeme Swann ^
Clint Mckay ^
Andre Russell (#) ^

So basically am in need of a decent U-24 batsman . In Russell , Vijay and Alam lies the weak link , but that's how it will be given the rules of the tournament . So pretty happy for now, hope all goes well in the end .

You won't be only one. Each team will have a weak link in their lineup due to the relative inexperience of the youth players. So it should all balance out.

Funny thing is is that your bottom 4 are the exact same players I have in my WPL team.

lol, that wasn't planned or anything :spy

And I thought this tournament was the 'Emerging Talent' league, not the 'Already emerged' tourament.

And yeah, the bowling is my strong point, got probably the best spinner in the world, the best pace bowler in the world, one of the best young quicks in Aamer and a bit of experience with Hilfenhaus and have Ishant Sharma and James Pattinson to back them up. Pattinson will probably be my next choice paceman because I reckon he's a better bowler than Ishant Sharma. Just the amount of pace bowlers that Australia have in OD cricket (Harris, Bollinger, Lee, Tait, Johnson, Hilfenhaus, McKay, Hastings, Siddle) so it's tough to break into that side.

Last 3 years (ODI's): 56 matches, 64 wickets @ 27.62, ER of 3.9

That ER is a lot better than all spinners (apart from Ray Price) and most bowlers who have played a decent amount of matches.

Johan Botha - Avg 34.06, ER 4.6
Graeme Swann - Avg 24.49, ER 4.6 (May have a better average but ER is what mostly matters in OD cricket, considering both are averaging under 30 with the ball.
Harbhajan Singh - Avg 32.24, ER 4.72

And plus, New Zealand have such a poor pace bowling lineup these days, so is less effective as well unlike Swann who has players like Anderson around him.

And I thought this tournament was the 'Emerging Talent' league, not the 'Already emerged' tourament.

Maybe I should change the league name to that :p.

It was the first thing that came into my head so I wrote it down and asked Pranav to do up a banner and then I went on holiday. I could call it the "International Emerging Talent Plus Already Emerged Talent League". The IETPAETL pronounce i-eat-patel.

If you can think of a better name I'll gladly change it.
