Inzamam-ul-Haq will remain as Pakistan captain for the rest of the year, even though his side have lost the current home one-day series to India.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided on Saturday Inzamam and vice-captain Younis Khan would stay in place for the tours to Sri Lanka and England, the ICC Champions Trophy and the home series against West Indies in December.

Inzamam was given a one-year extension as skipper last April, taking him through to the end of the India series, which concludes on Sunday with the final one-dayer in Karachi. India lead the series 3-1.

Under his captaincy, Pakistan have drawn test series in India and West Indies. They have beaten England and India at home .

Inzamam, 35, who has appeared in 107 tests and 355 one-day internationals has been captain since November 2003.

PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan said in a statement the decision had been made to ensure stability and continuity in the team.

He also announced that Pakistan wanted to recruit to bowling and fielding coaches for the senior team and were interested in South African Jonty Rhodes.

Why is this shocking news? I thought Inzi was a good captain.

he is great bats man no doub
he won pak many matchees for pak with his great batting
he dos noy yell and motivate his players like imran khan and wasim akram used to do
in my opinnin he shoul be removed from his captainace and make younis khan or malik captain

Why cant Pakistan appoint Younis Khan in any one version of the game?

I dont have that much respect for Inzamam the captain! I feel Younis Khan will make a better captain! He needs to be given more exposure as captain!

I prefer the title of this thread to be changed. Inzamam-ul-Haq has been a good captain the past year. Younis Khan has been a more agressive captain, but you don't need to forget how under Inzamam-ul-Haq's captaincy the team improved. And a couple of losses in the processes doesn't make you a bad captain.

Inzi is good captain for the pakistani side. only problem with him is that players dont support him as a captain, thats why they loose most of the times in big games.

He's a great captain, i feel that there is more improvements with him as captain not as a player.

I agree with Karachi, His captancy and batting beat England in test's and ODI's
why in the world would you want to dump him as captain.

Inzi is the best captain for Pakistan, younis is over-aggressive and Malik is not dat mature yet.
Malik probably won't be given a chance to captain the team anytime soon. After all, we don't want him throwing games just to prove a point.

Why would you give Malik the captancy?
He cannot get a permenent place in the test team
plus his father died a short while ago so he still must be feeling the effects of that, captiancy is the last thing he needs.

He probably will. I don't see any reason why he wouldn't.

Inzi needs to get more involved in games as situations change.Like when Dhoni was ripping the bowling lineup on Sunday, not once did Inzi talk to the bowlers like Wasim used too. I agree he's done well with the team under his wing, but to get another world cup winning team he needs to be more involved ingame.
