It's A Grand Old Flag: [FFX]

I'm currently in the process of moving house so my Internet will be down for a few days.

This story is not dead - I will continue writing it up once I get Internet at my new place. ;)

Welcome everybody, it's a pleasure to have you with us as we take you through today's live coverage of the big match at the MCG - the Melbourne Demons versus the Richmond Tigers. I personally can't wait for the action to commence - both teams have started off this year very well and hopefully we will see some quality footy here.

Let's look at the ins and outs here - Melbourne in particular have named Liam Jurrah and Jack Grimes, two very young players and the fans must be looking forward to seeing these two play. Grimes played just one game last year and Jurrah is set to make his debut so they are very fresh, and they are definitely the future of this club. Jack Watts has also kept his spot in the side after a few good performances, and it looks like the number one draft pick is progressing well as a forward for the Demons.

On the other hand, Richmond are naming an unchanged lineup, and they look a very confident team going in to 2009. They are also 2-1, and despite losing to the Western Bulldogs last week, they have looked the real deal so far. Ben Cousins has contributed to their success - he has had a stellar start to the season at the Tigers, and Melbourne will be hoping they can shut him down before he causes too much damage.

Another look at the teams reveals that Melbourne have indeed dropped Paul Johnson. Personally, I thought he wasn't too bad last week - kicking a couple of goals, but Blake has indicated his workrate around the ground was poor and that he wasn't moving to the right places. It just goes to show how much coaches review the matches, and how in-depth they really look. The Demons are going in with just one ruckman in Mark Jamar to this match, but as long as he stays fit I don't think it will be a problem for them. Melbourne don't really have any second ruck options though - their next best is Jack Watts in the ruck. John Meesen, Jake Spencer, Paul Johnson, Stefan Martin and Lynden Dunn are all not playing which leaves Watts as the next ruckman - however, I don't think he will have any major duties in the ruck.

Anyway, that's all for the match preview - we'll be catching you soon as the action unfolds from the G.

LOL Jack Watts isn't looking too good as the second ruckman. Hopefully Jamar can run out the entire match.

He could actually be sort of a part-time ruckmen when he develops, sort of like Tommy Hawkins and Cam Mooney are from the Cats.
Good update mate, gotta get over the Tiges.

I might do this game on Sunday to coincide with the real Demons vs Tigers match at the MCG, at 1:10PM. Haha, what are the odds of the game matching up perfectly with real life. :D
