i've only played number 2 and it was awesome

I don't like either of them, due to the combat system (and there is a lot of combat in those games). You don't control the combat yourself, you make choices about the attacks you want to make; combat's outcome comes down to your XP, not your gaming skill. Boring. I want to aim the shots myself and swing the lightsaber myself as well. If they remade KoToR as an FPS with RPG overtones, it'd be amazing.
I understand your point there, sounds like Jedi Academy is the SW game for you. However, the combat in KOTOR is meant to be like this, as it's got an emphasis on story, character levelling, and exploration; it's a true RPG. It's like the argument between those who prefer Morrowind, which is an RPG in every sense, to Oblivion which focuses more on combat and playability. I definately prefer the slower, more character driven game, hence why KOTOR is on my list of all time favourites. I'm tempted to reinstall it now, actually.
I take it you're a Mass Effect fan? I personally thought that the combat in that was worse than KOTOR; clunky and with a poorly executed cover system. I much preferred the character aspects of the game.
So KOTOR 3 would just be a combination of the first two games? Aside from being a bit redundant, it wouldn't be good for the continuity that was built. They shoulda made Kotor 3 though
Heres a suggestion
IN that game you could choose being the exile(WOmen) or REVAN
Each with its own storyline(DARK AND LIGHT)
IF such a game is made it would be awesome![]()
The trouble is that in the last 5 years, Lucas Arts have barely offered anything worth putting on PC. Empire At War might have been the pick of the litter, in that it actually offered a few interesting new ideas, not to mention of course, planet destroying superlasers.I haven't played ME for quite a while. To be honest, I'm slightly disappointed with the combat in that one as well: clunky is a good word for it. The story seemed to be developing quite well, I should get back to it at some point. I've been too busy playing CoD 4/MTW2 Kingdoms/HL2 Episodes! Jedi Academy mixed with KOTOR would make an amazing Star Wars game in my opinion. Still, it seems that LucasArts have abandoned the PC now: where's The Force Unleashed for example?

KOTOR was a good RPG. Built by roughly the same teams that put together Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights, it was never in doubt that it would be another high quality adaptation of the now ancient Dungeons and Dragons game rules.
The sequel could well have been as good, but the result was disappointing. You feel like you're halfway through the game and then suddenly it's all over. The villains just had no definition as a result. The developers clearly rushed it heavily to meet Xmas release schedules, as the incomplete content that was disabled but left in the game files is well documented. This is the site of a mod team that were trying to restore some of the content.

Battlefront was just a Star Wars mod for Battlefield 1942, while LEGO Star Wars is fun, but shallow. Star Wars Galaxies is an unpopular MMORPG in a world where MMOs and Star Wars are both of themselves hugely popular (the upcoming Old Republic, which will be more like KOTOR, might be able to channel that). The most recent releases, The Force Unleashed and that Lightsaber Duels game are respectively, average and soul destroying. Like I mean, really bad. The most unfortunate thing about TFU is that it was mostly built in-house. Lucas Arts apparently don't know as much about games as they think.
Indeed, to look back through recent times, many of their best titles were made by other developers, like the X-Wing series (Totally Games), KOTOR (Bioware/Obsidian) and JK2 (Raven/Vicarious Visions). It's annoying to think how well made Jedi Outcast was and yet how little of anything similar has come in its wake. The singleplayer was polished and the mechanics of the game were perfect. All it needed were a couple of console commands to add some lethality to the lightsaber and you could be on your way to beheading some stormtroopers.
Even in the wannabe expansion pack, Jedi Academy, the added lightsaber styles and skills were exciting and the part of the game that involved swoop bikes was exceptional. The only thing that really broke these games was producing a multiplayer that had any of that epic sense.
Of course, all we can really talk about from Lucas Arts is Star Wars games, because they killed off their great adventure games like Monkey Island. Sam n Max lives on, but Telltale Games - Home of Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures, Sam & Max, and Strong Bad games own them now. Lucas Arts will soon look to expand the Indiana Jones franchise, but if they keep up the strategy of publishing uninspired games, they will not last long there.
i loved jedi academy but my 2nd disc snapped and then i had to reinstall the whole computer so now i can't reinstall it again which is gay
