Ok, first of all, to point out I have really enjoyed playing the game, since it arrived a couple of days ago. Being a Lancashire supporter there was never reallu much doubt who I would choose to take charge of first.
The following comments are in no way meant to be critical, but are simply some elements I have noticed which I wondered if others had also found. As you will see from the screenshot I have had a very good start, winning every game so far but netherless I am going to ask for some advice about a couple of things as the post progresses.
1. Contracts, found it very easy to sign up any players available for salarlys much less then they demanded. Also, offered my players about half of what they were currently on and they all accepted. This surprised me a little, but has left me with a very strong depth of squad with lots of money left to improve things in the future.
2.Andrew Flintoff is centrally contracted, and hasn't been available for a single game yet
::boxing At least i'm not paying his wages, and its realistic in a sense but it is quite annoying:happy
3.Despite having some quality players I am still unsure about aggression levels for batsmen. What have others found to be the best tactics? I've found that keeping it at the defaults results in losing wickets, it is required to gradually increase the aggression as the batsmen gets set, otherwise they end up getting out anyway without making the runs they would otherwise have made.....
One good thing, as you would expect is that i've found that the best best batsmen on the game are able to play extremely aggressively without giving away many chances (e.g Law and Ponting).
4.Finally, my main concern despite some good peformances bowling wise is the statisitcs and skills of the bowlers themselves. These ratings in various areas are great, but they seem to have little or no effect (or at best a random effect) on how well they actually play.
Where as the skills of batsmen clearly have a major effect, I haven't really noticed much effect of these bowling stats. Clearly the likes of Anderson and Muli should be amongst the best bowlers around (certainly at county level) but they are no more effetive than the likes of Mahmood, Marshall, Bicknell, Keedy and other reserve players. In fact they have been less likely to take wickets so far, even when in very good form (green representing the fact that there form takes them beyond even their considerable ability)
This is not meant as a major criticism, just a slight concern as it seems almost random as to which bowler will take wickets regardless of skill. Perhaps this can be tweaked a bit in the patch so the skills have more of an effect on performance.
Overall excellent work on the game, just a few points I wanted to mention.
