Leaderboards Discussion

dissapointing...

anyone else not started there career 6 times??

I see all these guys in front of me, and I am hoping they are members of Planet Cricket

Easiest thing to do - there's PlayStation and Xbox logos at the top of the page (near Bradman's bat), they take you to a list of all the people who have filled out their profile on here correctly - so you can view all the names of people who are playing on your chosen console who are on here.

Hopefully in a future version there's an API or something that I can plug into and make those pages into a leaderboard and include stats - but the best option for the leaderboards is the friends filter - just add a bunch of people to your friends list from the user list and then you've got both hopefully people who will give you good online games, and someone to compare against on here.

I think this is an illustration of how pointless the leaderboards are: I had a lot of time off last week, played an awful lot of career mode. My 4th season I got selected for Aus 50 over, IPL and T20i (was already in BBL) - so it was a long long season and I got tons of points. I think I looked at the Xbox career leaderboard at one point and I was just outside the top 100 - like 106 or something.

I still haven't bothered checking back since to see if I made the top 100. Literally, do not care because it's meaningless. I am playing on pro, so what if I have more points than a guy playing legend or even veteran... Doesn't mean I'm doing better... Similarly, a guy bowling on pro career should have lots of points compared to my batter cuz bowling at that level is shooting fish in a barrel. Then bowling with HUD vs without is totally different too.

Just meaningless really. Gives Chunnster something to jerk off to and nothing more.

I am sure Chunny baby finds plenty of other things to jerk off to anyway.....in fact got a letter from one of his top lawyers (Phuckedup, Screwhead and Bingle) saying that I wasnt having it off in the right manner....apparently when someone else is involved it doesnt count......

i notice if i click that i don't see myself in the xbox user list. is that because it filters me out, or have i done something wrong? my user profile has my xbox tag in it

You also need to tick your ownership of the game down the bottom of that profile editing page - as not everyone with those fields will own DBC14.

...that and you get XP no matter what mode you're playing. I can rack up a STACK of XP just by playing the arcade modes on the lowest difficulty settings. I have no idea why you'd need a "career leaderboard" to be honest, since a career is mostly a personal thing and not a pissing contest with some delusional fake-lawyer bedroom dweller.

Putting this thread to good use, @BigAntStudios it MUST be time for a [email protected] update, any more feedback from the Lawyer?

Heeyyyy!!! I just checked the xbox career leader boards this morning... number 90. It was literally amazing... I mean, there were so many people I wished to thank...

I don't even know were I am on the career leaderboard, still on my first season.

I mainly play online, was 25th over all online last time I checked.

Some of the guys above me are real tools though, some of them have stats like played 100 games, won 90, and you would think they are genuine top players, but when you actually play them and they are on the verge of being defeated they quit.:facepalm

The leaderboards are misleading, for instance i have played 30 matches online and only won ten.
The problem is mostly when i'm winning people disconnect, when i'm losing i always complete the game.
So whats the point?

You have a point, that is what I was hinting at when mentioning the incident of a player ranked above me quitting when he was about to lose.

I know many people have mentioned the whole quitting issue, and I do really think it needs looking at, I like the option of being able to save the game if something goes wrong but in this case there should be a countdown time to allow the disconnected player to join back again, say around 5 minutes. So if a player gets the black screen, 5 minutes is enough for him to restart the ps3 and load up the game.

I still think the online leaderboards are less misleading than the other leaderboards, for example the experiance xp leaderboard, I can play all day long on Ameture mode against the AI and just pile up the xp points and get to rank 1, but I still may be the worst player on pro or the more difficult levels.

well there ya go, try to get some honest discussion around career mode leaderboard and get flogged

i was just interested in following some of you guys, chuck in some stats, but obviously no deal...

will look at the thing matt said i spose..

the problem with career mode leaderboards, the top players are all bowlers

i was in the top 20 as an all rounder, but now ive restarted as a pure batsmen im now about 400 odd.
