Not a surprise that we made short work of their batting order given that our opening attack would probably rank up there as one of the greatest of all-time. Just a little disappointed that we didn't put Khurram Khan under more pressure, would've won by a much greater margin if it weren't for him holding his own.
Didn't know much about this American crop of past cricketers, but by the looks of things they were top notch and we're all the better for it, as that Hartley ton showed.

In an ideal world, they should have gained Test status in the period between the 1880s to the early 1900s. But unfortunately, the ICC (then known as the Imperial Cricket Conference) as the name suggests wanted to keep the game limited to the nations in or under British control.

With players like King, Lester, Patterson, the Clarks, Bohlen, and quite a few more - I reckon they might have made a pretty decent Test team.

Something that happened over a 100 years ago isn't exactly news if you ask me.

Anyways, if you don't believe me about the Americans - just take a look at this. Or this. Or this. Or this. And finally this.

And that was just an amateur side from Philadelphia.

Something that happened over a 100 years ago isn't exactly news if you ask me.
Ironic that a sport's own governing body can be it's own worst enemy.
Fortunately, through leagues such as this we can dwell on what might have been.

Excellent - a win for Cairo; now for Copenhagen and Nairobi to follow the pattern
