Just to give me an idea of how I SHOULD be playing I just wondered what kind of scores you lot get in 10 over matches?
I can never make it past 30.

Well in 10 Over matches, your confidence bar goes up very quick. If you can take singles for an over or two by leg glances or playing it to the deep fielder, you should be able to play some shots. In the final 2 or 3 Overs, it gets really easy to hit slog Sixes over Mid-wicket.

10 overs and only 100 scores, u need lot of practice cuz i hit 250+ once in 10 over game, u have to check record section for 50 overs game scores.

You must have hit every ball for a 6!! :s
Ive had this game ever since it came out and my batting has never really improved. :(

really but batting is so easy in the game once u plays it for 5-6 times, and yeah most of the balls must have to hit for 6 to score 200+ runs

Different people play differently, and sometimes it takes longer time to get used to the game.

I suggest you play 50 overs or a test match first, instead of going to 10 or 20 overs game. Its easier that way. Don't spend too much time in the nets, i found it quite different compared to the real match.

Play against weaker teams, on medium levels. Firstly, don't try to cut or drive on the off. Try playing in the V area, everything straight and also try scoring on the leg side where you have a better chances of getting runs easily. Once you are set (and i really mean set, about 70 or 80 runs), you can score on the off but even then, be careful. Time well.

Don't use that many patches, stick to the original one's until you are confident.

i`ve scored 150-200 runs in 10 overs in medium
and 100-150 runs in hard
and in hard i`ve bold out teams on 20 runs or so
