I use a number of small and often free programs which are nevertheless extremely useful and some I use daily. They are not well known but are of no less quality or use than all the bloatware around.
I thought it would be useful to share my list of such progs here.If you have any yourself feel free to post them so everyone can benefit.
Note: Try not to post obvious ones everyone knows about and try to keep it to freeware and shareware progs.
eLibrary is a popular front end for Project Gutenberg. eLibrary allows you to easily find and download books from Project Gutenberg servers. Managing your ebooks with eLibrary is simple with its built in My Library.

A little tool called SPIDER , it removes all the hidden history of the websites youve visited in the IE DAT files- the ones that even when you try to delete them still secretly stay there.

NTREGOPT - Windows Registry optimiser/cleaner that is completely automatic. Its nice and not fussy.
ERUNT The Emergency Recovery Utility NT - Registry Backup and Restore for Windows NT/2000/XP.
This one is particularly useful since it lets you backup the XP registry.

This small GUI (Graphical User Interface) utility allows you to easily Add or Remove Nero as an AutoPlay Handler. Adding Nero as an AutoPlay Handler will cause Nero to open when you insert a blank CD-R/RW disk in your CD-R/RW drive.
Very useful if you use Nero and not Windows to burn

WinAMP stuff
Just install OnceClickPlay into a folder with mp3, wma, and mid files in it... double click the .exe file and you will have a randomized playlist created from all existing music found in the folder

Evillyrics - No nonsense lyrics component for WiAMP. Open source. Gets your lyrics automatically.Works for AudioCDs also

Handy jump to file feature This one is fairly straightforward and useful...especially when dealing with long playlist(s). Just hit the 'j' key and you will be presented with a pop up window and a list of songs remaining in the playlist. Prefences include the option to view tracks from all loaded playlists instead of just the current one.

Another and probably the most often used prog for me is Total Copy. Its an improved version of the explorer transfer dialog. It drastically speeds up data transfer between two HDDs.Also you can pause, resume while copying or moving files. Unfortunately the author's site seems to have disappeared but i'm sure if you search a bit you'll find it.
