Unfortunately there's no magic answer just a lot of practice and hard work. It's difficult to see your technique fully due to the quality of the footage but from what I can see there isn't anything obviously wrong. However, this article will take you through the correct way to bowl spin and the lines\lengths you should aim for.

As I said before to others the easiest way to work on line and length is to tape out target areas on the wicket. Start off aiming for a good length. Once you've got that sorted (try to be hitting this area 17 out of 20 times) decrease the target area and make it more specific to one stump (middle in this case). Continue doing this until you only have target areas the size of a ball and you're able to hit them on a very regular basis. Remember to vary the line and length as this will help you to learn control. It's all about practice.

I'd say mix this practice up so at times you're just bowling into the empty net and at others to a batter (both right and left handed).

I bowl legspin, and tend to drop it short too. I realise this happens when I try to bowl too quick, too much spin. When I used to practice bowling at a stump, I found it a lot easier to imagine a batsman is there than just an empty stump, and to just bowl at a comfortable speed. Easier to pitch it up.
But pracitce is very important. I didn't practice for a few days, lost all my rhythm and bowled short rubbish. Pitching up is very important...

Don't stiffen your wrist, I think thats why your dragging it down because your not letting the ball flick out of your fingers and wrist, I think your trying to put it there.

Man the rip you give the balls in the first link u need to be proud of that :p

Ok, the second clip shows the shortness you spoke of, and any decent batter will take that bit of hight and slap you about, as im sure you know ;) but you've mastered the harder thing, and thats how to spin, and have you got the top spinner mastered or was that a myserious accident ball in the first clip?

Thing is now, just put down a marker, such as a plastic mate you use for the inner ring, or even better a plastic mat, something which is big enough you have a decent area to aim at, but its challanging ;) one you've master length, you'll be well on your way.

I can bowl the toppy, but my wrong-un doesn't spin much. There was a time last year in only one match where I was spinning the wrong-un perfectly.
I have to go to the nets more, even though it's the off season here.

At Master, no I did not hit the camera.

At AA, how long should that area be?

Oh, and I bowl on concrete pitches for those that wanna know.

The area can be a big or as small as you like - to start with I'd suggest just placing a band of tape comprising the area of what is deemed to be a good length. To find this play a forward defensive shot (full stretch) and then roughly 6-10 inches forward from here will be a good length.

Taking this point as middle, mark out an area about 6-8 inches either side. As you get better you can decrease the size to improve accuracy.

The main idea is that you're able to control the ball and ultimately land it where you want it to land.

I might go to the nets on the weekend to bowl. Haven't bowled for a month or two

being as this thread is about leg spin bowling, ive got a question about it, ive been bowling leg spin for 2 and a half seasons now, but this season, i have lost all my spin on the ball, the ball comes out of my hand with the seam spinning up right like a top spinner every ball. its really annoying me, how could i sort it out, i use my fingers more than my wrist to spin the ball.

Make sure you have the correct grip first of all. Go to the link up the top, that should help you.

Remember that when you bowl spin, your ring finger does all of the work. Make sure that your palm is facing the batsman, not midwicket.

Hope it helps. :)

Chimp - this article will give you some tips on how to grip the ball, along with a few photos as to how it should look.

ive beenm gripping it corectly, but it just comes out with the seam upright :S

If that's the case you need to check your hand position at the moment of release.
